Southwest Medical University

Bachelor’s Degree: Clinical Medicine (M.B.B.S)

Duration: 5 Year+ 1 year Internship

Eligibility: Class 10+2 or equivalent exam with a minimum 60% in PCB & English and NEET qualified Percentile.

Medium of Instruction: English. Study of Chinese language compulsory in the 1st year which may be extended further. This is for facilitating effective interaction during clinical period and comfortable stay. Passing of the HSK (Chinese as a Foreign language) mandatory.

SWMU also has the distinction of having 77% of its students already practicing in various government and private hospi-tals throughout India.

Out of a total of 272 students 210 have already cleared the MCI Screening Test also known as Foreign Medical Gradu-ates Examination (FMGE) and are now proud members of the medical fraternity.

Classrooms & Laboratory

The college has modern educa-tional facilities which include the Computer Center, Audio-visual Educational Information Center, Network Teaching Laborato-ries,Multi-media Micro-teach-ing Laboratories, Multi-media Classrooms, Music Hall, Artists Gallery, campus-net, cable TV and broadcasting systems.

Dormitory

Well-appointed hostels with fully furnished rooms made for international students. Rooms are furnished with beds, TV, study tables, internet access, and air conditioning, public laundry. The hostels are given good pro-tection by security agencies and police booths in the University.

Southwest Medical University (SWMU) was founded in 1951 and is a government university recognized by both the Chinese government and the World Health Organization. SWMU confers bachelor’s degree and master’s degree, it has the postdoctoral program jointly with other universities, and has a National Post-doctoral Scientific Research Station.

SWMU covers 1,340,000 sq.mt with 2 campuses - Zhongshan campus and Chengbei campus. There are over 19000 students studying on campus, including 17072 undergraduates, 1682 postgraduates and 386 international students.

There are 1147 full-time teachers, among which 516 are hold-ing senior professional titles, 472 are holding doctor’s degree, 672 are MD supervisors and 34 are Ph.D supervisors.
