The children were excited, challenged, fantascally well behaved and they enjoyed the experience immensely. Our students should be very proud of themselves, and they make us proud as a school com- munity. I have to add how proud I am of our teachers, and how grateful I am for them. They engaged in every acvity. They didn’t sleep themselves unl the last child had seled, and they arose as soon as the first children srred. They offered advice, encouragement, sympathy and comfort as re- quired. They looked aſter a variety of challenging medical condions, supervised meals, clean ups, night acvies and helped pack up cabins at the end. They all leſt their own families to do it, and did all this without ever complaining. They are wonderful role models to our students, and to our community. Kindness and serving others is a common Gospel theme. Students here understand it, and believe in its importance, because they see it lived. Have a wonderful and safe holiday. Dear Parents This time last week I was fortunate enough to be on the Year Five Camp. It was fantastic. The children were excited, challenged, fantastically well behaved and they enjoyed the experience immensely. Our students should be very proud of themselves, and they make us proud as a school com-munity.

I have to add how proud I am of our teachers, and how grateful I am for them. They engaged in every activity. They didn’t sleep themselves until the last child had settled, and they arose as soon as the first children stirred. They offered advice, encouragement, sympathy and comfort as re-quired. They looked after a variety of challenging medical conditions, supervised meals, clean ups, night activities and helped pack up cabins at the end. They all left their own families to do it, and did all this without ever complaining.

They are wonderful role models to our students, and to our community. Kindness and serving others is a common Gospel theme. Students here understand it, and believe in its importance, because they see it lived.

Have a wonderful and safe holiday. We look forward to seeing you in Term 4.

BUNDABERG MATHS TEAM CHALLENGE

Last week the St Patrick’s Maths Team competed in

the Bundaberg Maths Team Challenge. They had a

fantastic day of mathematical problem solving and

working as team. We are so proud of all the work they

put into preparing for this day, much of it in their own

time. Thank you to Mrs Wilson for her work with the

Maths Extension program. Thank you also to Miss

Donna, Mrs Smith, Miss Grace and Mrs Morrison for

supervising our students on the day.

REEF TOGETHER CONVENTION

REGIONAL STUDENTS COLLABORATE FOR THE REEF 200 school students from 20 regional schools came together at the Southern Great Barrier Reef Regional Schools “Reef Together” Conven-tion for International Year of the Reef last Monday. As well as helping to MC and host the event, St Patrick’s students showcased some of our environmental projects and learning from within our classrooms to Earth Hour Founder and Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef CEO Andy Ridley, Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort Managing Director Peter Gash and Plastic Pollution Solutions Founder Anthony Hill. Students, joined by Mrs Robinson and Mr Fox were inspired by the guest speakers, happily shared our Reef Guardians goals shared ideas and collaborated for the greater good of the environment. The care, love and stewardship demonstrated by so many young people in our community, for the Great Barrier Reef, was a wonderful testament to our students and their peers across Bundaberg.
