What is Traffic Incident Management(TIM)?

TRAFFIC INCIDENT MANAGEMENT
AZTech is the collaborative regional management of theIntelligent Transportation System(ITS) developed forthe Phoenix metropolitan area.

• ALERT started at ADOT in the late 1980’s for incidentmanagement on the freeways.
• MCDOT in 1999 decided to do a pilot project for arterialincident management. The ALERT captain was hiredby MCDOT to developed the team.
• Took what we learned from freeways and applied theknowledge to arterials.
• Then we adapted…..
• We leveraged our reputations that were developed withthe police
