According to WRAP's latest research the UK uses over 5 million tonnes of plastic each year. Plastic is a valuable and finite resource and environmentally the optimum use for most plastic is to be recycled - preferably into a product that can be recycled again. Recycling plastic into end applications that displaces virgin plastics can save on average 2 tonnes of CO2 for every tonne of plastic recycled. There is a wide range of markets for them and increasingly these include full closed loop recycling back into packaging. Either separated for bulky items or as a mixedrecycling stream we provide acomprehensive and responsive collectionservice for soft plastics and would typicallyprovide one or more of the followingcontainers/systems on-site for containmentand bulking:

 Internal recycling containers

 Wheeled containers

 Enclosed skip

 Baler/compactor

Our soft plastics recycling solution:

The end product is either melted downdirectly and moulded into new shapes orshredded into flakes before being melteddown and processed into granules.

We separate, sort and bale all soft plastics atour Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) for bulktransport to local recycling centres where thematerial is ground down and passed througha series of cyclones and water baths tosegregate into the different types of plastic.
