Jan. 25, 2013 Dear Parents and Guardians, I am writing to let you know about an incident that was reported by a couple of students earlier this week. The students said that after school, someon e in the parking area near the city’s McKinley Community Center showed a gun and threatened to take one of the student s’ i-Pod. The students got away uninjured and reported the incident both to police and school administrators. They said that there were two men and a woman in a white, four-door car who approached them, asked for the i-Pod and showed the gun. We had extra patrols around the school today and will continue to be vigilant. As always, the safety and security of students is of the utmost importance here at McKinley. We also will remind students about being safe coming to and going home from school. We ask that you also remind them about precautions they can take like walking in pairs, yelling for help if someone approaches them and reporting any incident to you, a school official or police. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me at 881-9390. Sincerely, Principal Mary Cade McKinley Middle School

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am writing to let you know about an incident that was reported by a couple of students earlier

this week. The students said that after school, someone in the parking area near the city’s

McKinley Community Center showed a gun and threatened to take one of the student s’ i-Pod.

The students got away uninjured and reported the incident both to police and school

administrators. They said that there were two men and a woman in a white, four-door car who

approached them, asked for the i-Pod and showed the gun. We had extra patrols around the

school today and will continue to be vigilant.

As always, the safety and security of students is of the utmost importance here at McKinley.

We also will remind students about being safe coming to and going home from school. We ask

that you also remind them about precautions they can take like walking in pairs, yelling for help

if someone approaches them and reporting any incident to you, a school official or police.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me at 881-9390.

Sincerely,

Principal Mary Cade

McKinley Middle School
