Congratulations to McLean County High School’s HOBY Ambassadors for Summer 2012: Kaylee Ranburger The purpose of this summer Rural Scholar program is to provide exposure to selected health careers for rising high school seniors while they study in their local communities to improve their scores on the ACT exam. Participation will be part-time for 3 weeks. Students will receive a stipend equivalent to hourly minimum wage and will divide their time between shadowing health care professionals in their community and ACT preparation. Seniors Final Transcripts

Seniors are asked to provide the guidance office with the names of the colleges they would like to receive a copy of their final transcript. Finalization of Senior transcripts and their mailings will be completed during the week following graduation.

Academic Awards Program

Thursday, May 10, 2012 6:30 P.M.

This annual awards program sponsored by the MCHS Beta Club recognizes students grades 9-12 for outstanding work in the class room. Senior scholarship recipients and stu-dents with perfect attendance will also be recognized.

Scholarship Recipient Recognition

All Seniors are asked to report information regarding scholarships they have received to the guidance office. Information is need-ed to insure recognition at the Academic Awards Program on May 10 and to be in the newspapers. Please check to see that this information has been reported.

ACT Registration Reminder

MCHS is a test site for the next ACT testing date on June 9. Reg-istration deadline is May 4. Reg-istration information is available in the guidance office. Our school code is 180-350.

For Students Interested in Playing College Athletics

Students planning on participating in athletics at the college level must file an eligibility form. Application for certification with the NCAA Initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse should be made after the completion of their junior year. Forms are available on- ine at www.ncaaclearinghouse.net. Students must return the form or copy #1 and copy #2 to Mrs. Spear. Remember to use the Clearinghouse code #9999 when registering to take the ACT and/or SAT.

Nominations for parent representatives are now being accepted for MCHS Site Based Council. If you are a parent of a child who will be in grades 9 - 12 at MCHS next year and would like to be considered for a position on SBDMC, submit your name in writing to Ashley Troutman, Principal at McLean County High School. Deadline for nominations will be Thursday, May 10th, at 1:00 p.m. Nominations may be e-mailed or hand delivered. The Election will take place at 6:00 p.m in the commons area. Please make sure that you come by and vote!!!

The big day is almost here…...the day your graduate has been work-ing towards since they began their elementary school days back in Au-gust 1999. Congratulations to you, the parents and guardi-ans of our Class of 2012 and best wishes to you! all!

Progress Reports & Grade Cards Progress Reports for the 4th grading interim were given to students on Monday, April 23rd. Report Cards will be mailed to parents Wednesday, May 16th. If your child failed a class, please have them contact Mrs. Spear, or contact her yourself, to insure that he/she stays on tract to graduate.

Final Exam Schedule Seniors: Tuesday, May 8th. Seniors will take 1st, 3rd & 5th period finals. Thursday, May 10th. Seniors will take 2nd, 4th & 6th period finals.

Underclassmen: Monday, May 14th. All underclassmen (9 - 11) will take 1st, 3rd & 5th period finals. Tuesday, May 15th. All underclassmen (9 - 11) will take 2nd, 4th & 6th period finals.
