BRAC & FT. MCPHERSON

• Fort located in SW Atlanta in the city of East Point

• Encompasses approx. 487 acres

• Approx. 7 miles from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport

• Conveniently located on MARTA train and bus lines

• Chosen in most recent BRAC selection round in 2005 with plans for closure set for September 2011

• 2007 and 2010 Redevelopment Plans, ultimately adopted by the MRLA (established by the City Atlanta)

• Original Master plans affected by the Great Recession (’08 & ‘09) and subject to changes in strategy

REFERENCING THE 2007 & 2010 REDEVELOPMENT PLANS:

• We agree that there should be a historical mixed use space (adaptive reuse and historical preservation efforts)

• Residential Space including both multi-family and single-family housing units and a community green space

• A high-density mixed use space located as close to MARTA as possible, creating a high accessibility space for business transients and residents alike

• Some component of recreation ground

-$300 million specifically allotted for competitive STEM grants

high-need districts for improving STEM education, aligning it with standards that help ensure college and career readiness
