    Introduction & Objectives

    The primary motive of corporate finance is to maximize corporate value. The risein business activities and its subsequent rise in financial activities due toliberalization of Indian economy requires the need of proper and accuratecorporate finance decision for Indian firms. This programme is important for anyfinancial executive as it covers (i) rapidly changing corporate finance theories, (ii)adoption of best corporate governance through financial decisions, (iii) improvingtransperancy in financial decisions, and (iv) knowing the influence of changingmacro factors in financial decisions.

    This programme will provide the management executives with financialperspective on their business decision. The latest developments in corporatefinance will be given more focus. As add on, it also helps the participants tounderstand advanced valuation techniques to complex financial situations. As itis an advanced programme the participants are expected to be aware of basic

    Dr. A. Kanagaraj

    Dr. A. Kanagaraj is a faculty in the area of Finance. He is a Post Graduate in Commerce as well

    as in Foreign Trade. He has a Doctorate in Business Finance from Pondicherry University. Priorto joining XLRI in June 2012, he has worked with business schools like DCSMAT, TSM, TAPMI,and IIM Indore. His teaching and research interest includes Corporate finance, Capital marketinvestments, Financial reporting and analysis, Investment management, International finance,Corporate risk management, Alternative investments, Corporate frauds and governance.

    He has presented number of papers in various National and International Conferences. Hisresearch article has appeared in various research journals like Asian Journal of Finance and

    Accounting, Journal of Applied Finance & Banking, International Journal of Applied DecisionSciences, NIBMs Prajnan, Asian Economic Review, ICFAIs Journal of Applied Finance, andBusiness Perspective. He was part of training team for training executives of Fidelity Investments,Oracle India, DC Bank, NTPC, ONGC, Alstom India, L&T, Sundaram BNP Paribas, MMFSL,Impetus India, and SAIL. His popular management training programmes include Financial

    Statement Analysis, Fixed Income Analysis, Advance Corporate Finance, Derivatives and RiskManagement.
