    III. Technical summary/description

    One good possible source of energy is water energy from rivers, falls etc. considering the richnatural resources including the different bodies of water found particularly in the more mountainousregions. This renewable energy is a good alternative source of power and has proven to provide cleanelectricity without any environmental impact on the river ecosystem. This energy can be harnessed by

    means of a micro-hydro generator which can convert the mechanical energy from running water in riverstreams to electrical power which are stored and later distributed. This technology can provideelectrification to those non-electrified areas in the country.

    IV. Projected output description

    In this project we will be designing and fabricating an actual Micro-hydro Power System and willbe installed at the proposed location which will provide a reliable source of electricity which are notsupplied with electrical power. We will innovate the existing device that will convert the kinetic energyfrom the water into useful electricity.

    III. Technical summary/description

    The quality of indoor air SuperFerrys SuperCat is important not only for travellers comfort but also fortheir health . Indoor pollution sources that release gases or particles into the air are the primary cause of indoor air quality problems in homes. Inadequate ventilation can increase indoor pollutant levels by notbringing in enough outdoor air to dilute emissions from indoor sources and by not carrying indoor airpollutants out of the home. High temperature and humidity levels can also increase concentrations of

    some pollutants.

    Many factors affect IAQ. These factors include poor ventilation (lack of outside air), problems controllingtemperature, high or low humidity, and other activities inside the fast craft that can affect the fresh aircoming into the building.

    IV. Projected output description

    In this project we will be investigating the quality of air present inside the Super Ferrys SuperCatand take necessary improvements for a better condition of air circulating in the vessel which may affect

    the health of the passengers and crews during the cruising period.

    III. Technical summary/description

    Drying of rice grains is a method of food preservation. It works by removing water from thefood, which inhibits the growth of microorganisms by the use of heat coming from the sun. Nowadayssolar or electric food dryer are used in drying process and has a more-consistent results. Molten salt isnon-flammable and nontoxic, and widely used in the chemical and metals industries as a heat-transportfluid.

    IV. Projected output description

    In this project we will be designing and fabricating a thermal storage system using molten salts.The energy stored on molten salts will be used in drying the rice grains during evening where dryingprocess is not possible during that time. This storage system will be beneficial for the humans and as wellas for the energy conservation.

    Threshing Machine or simply thresher is a major machine used in agriculture for separatinggrains from husk and stalks. This machine will lessen the labor and also the time consumed. Threshernowadays are designed to thresh rice for it is the most important crop in our country and usually

    powered by diesel and gasoline.

    IV. Projected output description

    In this project we will be designing and fabricating a small scale of threshing machine that ispowered by steam produced in combustible materials . Well be designing a convenient machine tohandle.

    Design and Fabrication of a Small Scale Solar Furnace for Power Generation of a Small house

    II. Proposed advisor

    III. Technical summary/description

    A solar furnace is any device that creates heat by concentrating sunlight through the use of reflectors. The principle of operation consists of mirrors pointing at a focus. The intensity of sunlight inthat focus will increase approximately three times. The reason for this is because instead of only gettinglight from the sun, the focus gets light from the sun and mirrors.

    IV. Projected output description

    A small furnace can be used for cooking, without having to use any firewood. A larger furnacecan generate electricity for powering additional items within a home even powering the entire home.
