1. Precautions on Safety
1-1. Composition of the Operation Manual
For the purpose of using the main body of unloader (machine side) safely and correctly, the
functions, setting methods, and safety precautions on maintenance and operation are described in
this Operation Manual.
In addition to this Operation Manual for the main body of unloader, Operation Edition and Technical
Edition for Control Box are provided. Please read the related manuals thoroughly before operating
the unloader.
1-2. Precautions described in this Operation Manual
 Symbols of danger level
The Precautions on safety described in this Operation Manual are classified into three following
types. When the danger level is high, special attention shall be paid in the course of operation.
If the content of this precaution is not followed, death or serious
injury may be caused.
If the content of this precaution is not followed, death or serious
injury may be caused or the machine may be seriously
damaged.
If the content of this precaution is not followed, personnel may
be injured or the machine may be damaged.
 Indication of key points((((POINT))))
The key points for operation will be indicated by the symbol in this Operation Manual.
1-3. Precautions
Forbidden to enter the working area of the machine.
Forbidden to enter the working area of the unloader so as to avoid being entrapped or clamped by
the unloader, which may cause serious injury.
Forbidden to do maintenance and repair work to the machine when it is running.
Do not do maintenance and repair work to the machine when it is running. If any maintenance or
overhauling work is needed, turn off the (high pressure) air switch and cut off the power for the
control box or the pendant and the circuit breaker first.
DANGER!

Wear properly
Please properly wear the clothes before operating. Do not wear overlarge or unfit clothes or
clothes with decorative articles so as to avoid being entrapped by the machine, which may cause
serious injury.
Do not rebuild the machine
Please do not rebuild the machine. In case any accident or failure is caused by such rebuilding, our
company will not bear any responsibility.
Proper grounding
When the product is installed, please ground the machine properly by following the standards as
required by your country (the third grounding standard is required in Japan.
Use no-fuse breaker (breaker)
For the wiring connected to the power supply, please use an overcurrrent breaker.
Do not open the electrical component box
If so, electric shock may occur, resulting in serious injury.
Do not touch the running machine by hands
Do not put your hand into the internal part of the running machine so as to avoid being
entrapped or clamped.
If the power supply stops frequently, stop running of the machine
If the power supply stops frequently due to the thunder or other causes, stop running of the
machine so as to avoid accidents.
Designate the responsible person for supervising
In order to prevent accidents caused by operation errors during manual adjustment or by unclear
safety confirmation, designate one responsible person for supervising when more than two people
are operating the machine.
Air supply In order to prevent failure of the air device, use dry air supplied through a drier. In addition,
users who have no after-cooler or air drier can buy them from our company. Contact your
local STAR distributor.

2-7. Solenoid valve unit
CAUTION!
• Since it is very dangerous, do not regulate the speed of the air cylinder when it is in
the automatic running state. Regulate the speed through manual operations.
• If the running speed of cylinder is excessively high, it can cause failures. So control
the cylinder speed and don’t let it run too fast. When the speed needs to be regulated,
the operator shall adjust it from a lower value to a higher value until it reaches the
proper speed.
• It is preferable not to use the button for manual operation at the solenoid valve. Use
the control box for related operations.
In case manual operation is needed, pay attention not to be entrapped into the
machine because the linked action of the cylinder will make the cables and air hoses
run at the same time.
• When the equipment is electrified or at a certain period after the power is turned
off, the temperature of the solenoid valve coil will be very high. So do not touch it
with hands so as to avoid injury.
POINT
Manual operation through the button at the solenoid valve must be done after the
power for the control box is turned off (OFF).
Note that the Forward and Return may not be done.

3 Maintenance and check
In order to ensure long service time of unloader and prevent mechanical faults, the unloader must be
checked regularly.
POINT
The pendant screen displays periodically the information of check list and oil supplying
by using the maintenance functions of the control box side. For details, refer to the
operation manual for control box (Technical Edition). ●Looseness of nuts and bolts
Loosened nuts and bolts caused by long-time violent impacting may be a main reason for damage to
the unloader. ·Tighten the mounting bolts of limit switches for vertical, crosswise, traverse and product
operations. ·Ensure the tightness of the terminals in the terminal box at the relay position between the carriage
unit and the control box. ·Ensure the tightness of each stopper. ·Check to see if any bolt has fallen off so as to avoid damages to the machine. ●Oil supplying for each friction part
Refer to the Oil-supplying Diagram on the next page and add grease regularly. ●Dirt on the surfaces of LM guide and traverse rail
Scars and dust caused by grease and other dirt on the surfaces of vertical and crosswise LM guides
and the LM guide for horizontal traverse on the traverse rail will prevent smooth running of the
equipment. Thus they should be removed periodically. In addition, if the surface of LM guide has
scars or any other damage caused by striking or colliding, the guide should be replaced with a new
one. ●Damage on the air hose
Damages on the air hose caused by bending will result in abnormal air pressure (flow). If air leakage
occurs at the connector, air hose or other pipes, they should be replaced immediately. ●Consumable parts and semi-consumable parts ● Consumable parts and semi-consumable parts
Refer to the list of consumable parts for regular check and replacement.

OPERATION
● Pressure air that is supplied
passes through ejector section with high speed. At this time, ejector sucks air in circuit of VACUUM port to generate vacuum condition.
● When the vacuum pressure
reaches the set pressure, the pressure switch turns off the supply valve.
●When the vacuum pressure
decreases, the pressure switch turns the supply valve on and automatically controls it to maintain the vacuum pressure.
●Digital pressure switch for vacuum with energy saving function
