Psychological Thrillers
These types of movies are a sub-genre of thriller films, they have elements of the drama, mystery andsometimes horror genre. They usually contain mindgames, stalking, obsession, death-traps, psychologicalthemes and horror of personality. As well as this thecharacters used tend to have a dark background or pastand psychotic personalities. The conflict createdbetween the two main characters are usually mentaland emotion rather than physical. Sometimes thesuspense comes from within one solitary characterwhere characters must resolve conflicts with their ownminds, usually the conflict is an effort in trying tounderstand something that happened to them, themselves. These are presented to the audience byusing physical expressions by using close-up shots.
