Based on its research activity UD ranks among the top three universities in Hungary (Ministry of Education);
70% of the academic staff hold PhD degree;
26 members of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences(10 new ones since the year 2000);
11 research groups sponsored by special grant of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences;
23 Ph.D. schools (highest number in Hungary);
Close to 800 PhD students; 150-200 new PhD degrees issued per
annum; R&D income ~4,5 billion HUF/year
(~18 million €).
