Executive Summary

The 4th industrial revolution is inevitably upon us, and as we however gear to surf

the great wave of innovations in technology to solve complex problems such as

Sickness and Disease that has plagued mankind for generations, the quest to live

long, productive and disease free lives continues to evolve with advancement in

technology.

Digital health connects and empowers people and populations to manage health

and wellness, augmented by accessible and supportive provider teams working

within exible, integrated, interoperable, and digitally-enabled care environments

that strategically leverage digital tools, technologies and services to transform care

delivery.

leverages the Blockchain technology and AI (Articial Intelligence) to revolutionize

access to quality healthcare services in low income settings by unveiling the core

value proposition of Blockchain and AI implementation like;

The time is NOW to be part of the solution and revolution to create a new synergy

between all participants in the quest to make their lives, longer, healthier and more

productive.

Focus Nigeria : Problem statement

1. Medical tourism: estimated cost to Nigeria 1.7Billion USD annually (2019)

Key Findings and motivation for the trend identies two major motivators, Inadequate

medical infrastructure and poor medical, and customer service from health workers in

Nigeria.

2. Brain drain:

A widening demand-supply gap of skilled professionals is creating immediate challenges

for public and private health systems, which both short and long-term, detrimental conse-

quences in care access and delivery in 2020 and beyond. The situation appears to be

particularly acute within two pivotal medical professions—physicians and nurses.

Nigeria currently has approximately 35,000 doctors per 200 million population.

In the year 2030 Nigeria will need a minimum of 700,000 Doctors per projected population

of 300 million,

The decit of over 600,000 is a clear and present danger to the overall healthcare sector.

It will take Nigeria 100 years to produce near adequate Doctors, assuming no doctor

leaves the country after training. ( Total pop.200 million + Total Doctors 37.thousand D/P

ratio =1 : approx 5000).

Against such severe backdrop, and two severe self potentiating scenarios we call on

EVERYONE to become an investor in health sector of the largest economy in Africa.

E. Market Analysis

Financial operations and Healthcare funding.

For years, nancial challenges have shadowed the world’s public and private health systems

to varying degrees, and we expect the situation to persist in 2020. “value” will progressively

be a watchword in health care payment reform. The entry of non-traditional players in the

health care technology sector have the potential to both support and boost incumbent's

eorts to grow revenue and improve services. Digital giants and digital-rst health solution

disruptors are demonstrating that there could be an easier and more user-friendly way to

conduct health care transactions.

Blockchain implementation is invaluable in the current situation more so patients are no

longer passive participants in their health care, they are demanding transparency, conve-

nience, access, and personalized products and services.

Nigeria is strategically placed for both economic and social investment in the health sector

creating value for all players.

Conclusions

Nigeria is on a population trajectory to be the third most populous nation in the world, and

it is essential for all to play a part in establishing the infrastructure for a better health system

in Africa.

Nowhere is better positioned to benet from the digital revolution in healthcare than Africa,

where technology can help tackle the rising burden of disease and major obstacles in infra-

structure and the environment. However, realizing the promise of digital healthcare tech-

nology, while avoiding its potential pitfalls, will require a comprehensive, systematic

approach based on the principles of sustainability, equity and inclusion.

Digital technology holds enormous potential to bridge the gaps in healthcare provision by

directing limited medical resources where they are most needed.

stakeholders must come together to formulate high-level strategies to guide investments in

digital technology...

Blockchain can potentially facilitate everything from cross border payments to insurance

claims.

The NiMEDix Ecosystem

Patients are no longer passive participants in their healthcare; they are demanding transpar-

ency, convenience, access, and personalized products and services.

There has been considerable progress in digital transformation of health care, in the wave of

disruptive technologies which is expected to continue in 2020 and beyond. AI powered

data analytics with digital payments nding traction, the health care systems will witness a

shift in data management from storing data sets to extracting insights that can be mone-

tized and support opportunity areas including population health management and

value-based care.

NiMEDix ecosystem is a revolution in the way we interact with the Healthcare industry

opening doors to synergies, partnerships, collaborations in ways never before explored.

EVERYONE becomes a player in creating value in a sector precluded by extreme conserva-

tive practices.

INTRODUCTION

NIMEDIX ECOSYSTEM

NiMEDix creates opportunities for direct interaction

among consumers, insurers and service providers to

improve health care access, reduce costs and streamline

payments, regardless of whether it’s a patient, employer,

insurer or government agency making a healthcare

payment. We are seeking to improve care outcomes

through eective coordination and eliminate much of

the cost of redundancy, inecient administrative poli-

cies, waste, abuse and fraud from the system.tt

NiMEDix ecosystem is the much-needed disrup-

tive solution in the African Health Industry. It is a

unique medical ecosystem designed to decentral-

ize the health sector in Africa using Articial

intelligence (machine learning) and the block-

chain as a tool to disrupt and provide accessible,

quality and aordable health care.

NiMEDix will Revolutionize the health sector by

creating partnership opportunities between gov-

ernments, corporate rms, high net worth individu-

als, and the masses to collectively contribute to the

building of a new era in health care, make everyone

a role player in the development of the health

sector of the most populous nation in Africa and its

environs.

AI and blockchain holds tremendous capacity for

transforming the provision of healthcare services

in resource-poor settings. Many of the healthcare

systems hurdles in Africa could be addressed and

overcome using AI supported by other technolog-

ical developments and emerging elds. The ubiquitous use of smart phones, combined with

growing investments in supporting technologies (e.g.,

mHealth, health informatics, Electronic Medical

Records and cloud computing), provide ample oppor-

tunities to use AI applications to improve public

health outcomes in low-income country settings by

eectively allocating scarce resources to areas in most

need.

NiMEDix mission

– NiMEDix ecosystems understand that

personalized healthcare is the future and

AI/Blockchain implementation is the most

ecient path to this outcome.

The way we collect, understand and use

data on patient health, healthcare service

and research is evolving fast into an era of

“Man and Machine” in reaching near 100%

accuracy in diagnosis, treatment, patient

care plans and eectively forecast disease

patterns or outbreak.

The core of NiMEDix is grounded in the

proven and tested advantages of applying

AI and blockchain technology to meet vast

array Africa’s health care challenges.

The growth of AI and blockchain technol-

ogy is a paradigm shift in healthcare

technology.

Due to massive population growth, the

lack of access to quality health care is one

of many challenges in the African sub-re-

gion needing urgent investments. We

understand that international investment

is not in short supply but paradoxically

the situation got worse due to fraud, and

inecient practices which has led to

failure in achieving an equivalent mile-

stones relative to investment.

The Paradox Of NIgeria HealthcareThe healthcare sector has recieved adequate attention from both the FG and the international development partners who

have made several commitments yet the statistics are very poor

Safe, aordable & eectivehealth Care in Africa(What is the market challenge and opportunity)

In terms of health care, governments face a range of problems, including lack of funds and

poor infrastructure, compounded by brain drain, poverty and epidemics. The best of home

grown doctors migrate in search of higher wages.

Medical tourism in 2017 is estimated cost Nigeria approximately 1.3 billion USD per annum, rising to over 1.7 billio USD in 2019. Two main factors have been identied by several authors as drivers of medical tourism.1. Lack of medical equipments2. Inecient hospital systems.

Health care spending in nigeria has reached a value of $18.35 billion, over 6.5 Trillion naira (3.8% GDP) , extremely low by global standards.

Progressive Decline in government funding

of public hospitals in some regions with the

direst needs of funding complicates the

situation.

GDP again low by global standards is higher

than many other African nations including

Nigeria, the most populous

ZIMBABWE - Doctor to patient ratio is 1 per

10,000 in habitants ,with very unreliable

pharmaceuticals

TANZANIA - With 5.6% GDP spending on

health, doctor to patient ratio is 1 per 30,000

inhabitants with almost NO pathologist,

standing at 156th position on the WHO

ratings.

Fraud remains a major factor in failure to

achieve signicant milestones in health

sector and the entire economy, the need for

blockchain implementation an apt solution to

a lingering problem in almost all sectors of

the African economy.

Billions of dollars is lost every year to health

care fraud, with transactions on the block-

chain, an integral part of the ecosystem, these

problems can be resolved as all transactions

are open and immutable. Centralized infor-

mation silos a harbinger of fraud, expensive

and dicult to coordinate bulky and highly

prone to loss, data theft and manipulation

characterize the healthcare space.

3rd party (consumer) disintermediation,

hospitals, pharmacies, laboratories and insur-

ers use same old centralized logic in decision

making; completely excluding the consumer

from the process NiMEDix will bridge that

gap by putting you in complete control of

your health data and an opportunity to mon-

etize your data.

The African healthcare market is large and

diverse. Its value chain comprises of manu-

facturers, health service providers, medical

insurance, retailers, distributors, health

financing entities, and medical education

providers. There is a need for investment in

all these areas but there has been a concen-

tration of investment in multispecialty

hospitals, niche healthcare providers, stand-

alone diagnostic facilities and Health Main-

tenance Organizations (HMOs).

Healthcare in Nigeria has seen high levels of

investment but failed to thrive for several

reasons. Investment in healthcare provision

can create immense value for both providers

and beneciaries if it can leverage on a large

enough population and an associated

network of diagnostic capabilities and

huge opportunities for multinationals with extensive capacity for research and capital for

investments.

Africa may be home to less than 15 percent of the world’s population but it is the continent

where up to 25 percent of the world’s diseases occur. Nigeria, being the most populous

nation in Africa, has a large number of cases of widespread communicable diseases.

NiMEDix solutions

The appeal of AI is its ability to collect, analyze and make sense of vast amounts of unstruc-

tured and variable data (especially text, statistical numbers, and visual images) quickly and

often more accurately than a human being. With the increase in digitization and computing

power, there has been an ever-growing wealth of digital data produced by individuals and

systems, and advances in machine learning and analytical algorithms mean AI systems will

become ever more powerful and eective.

NiMEDix ecosystem will;

NiMEDix ecosystem platform will tap into the wealth of AI and blockchain to meet the need

of all categories of the diverse population, the urban dwellers and the rural dwellers alike, the

platform addresses the core needs of all parties involved in health care delivery. With a

decentralized approach, the major contributors (public) to the health sector can invest and

benet from the value created from their expenses.

An estimated 3 to 5 Billion individuals in emerging countries without healthcare begin to

acquire online access for the rst time, electronic health technology becomes more critical

than ever. Providers, facilities, and agencies will need to both support the needs of these new

consumers and focus on cost reduction and increasing eciency.

1. Financial operations and performance improvement

Financial challenges have plagued the world’s public and private

health systems to varying degrees, from FRAUD to INAPPROPRIA-

TIONS and Challenges in Remittances, the situation may not

change anytime soon, hence we must plug in to the digital

revolution . The entry of non-traditional players in the health care

sector have the potential to both support and suppress incum-

bents’ eorts to grow revenue. Digital giants and digital-rst

health solution disruptors are demonstrating that there could be

an easier and more user-friendly way to conduct health care

transactions.

this market.

NIMEDix Live

Articial Intelligence, Advanced ElectronicHealth Technology Infrastructure & theblockchain to Support Therapy,Diagnosis and Research in Africa

Kenya and Tunisia are the only nations from Africa with any documented attempt towards developing an AI plan.

AI would add $15.7 trillion to the Global Economy by 2030 and potentially increase labor

productivity by up to 40% by 2035. AI also has the potential to double the economy of a

nation like the USA (GDP: 18.57 trillion) in just 20 years.

“Articial intelligence is the future, It comes with colossal opportunities.

Africa would end up as consumers for foreign AI systems and we would all just be data

points in the long run.

The use case for the NiMEDix tokens will be tremendous considering the market size and

multi facet solutions provided by NiMEDix Ecosystems

Massive increase in mobile phone penetration in Africa reaching 67% with Nigeria rst on

the chart only next to India, an era of boom in telemedicine is in no distant future and we

will be ready to capture the market with our innovative solutions.

Africa has some of the worst and largest problems in the world. 501 million people, 47

percent of the population of sub-Saharan Africa lived on $1.90 a day or less in 2012 and

233 million people in sub-Saharan Africa were hungry/undernourished in 2014-2016.

In 2015, 9.2 million deaths were recorded in Africa, majority being caused by communica-

ble and non-communicable diseases.

We therefore potentially can benet the most by focusing on and investing in Articial

Intelligence and its many applications.

Medicine meets AI

Why Blockchain:

NiMEDix ecosystem will create a clear auditable record of medical data sources and

data providers can be rewarded for their data. Therefore, the completer and more

accurate and relevant the data they provide, the more the reward. It will also provide

very interesting opportunities for institutions, who (with their patient’s permission)

can provide whole datasets to researchers, and in return get both nancial returns and

access to the technology that results from the data. In the longer term, the patient can

authorize their institutions to pass on their data to data scientists through the same

blockchain-based approach.

Not all data is created equal. Data from people with rare diseases is critical to diagnos-

ing and treating those diseases. Data over many years is more valuable than a short

time period. At the other end, bad actors may even fake data in an attempt to fraudu-

lently gain remuneration.

Security of personal data. Blockchain technology will provide services for individu-

al professionals and organizations to share patient data securely, and allow medi-

cal research institutions to collect, monitor and analyze medical data securely,

reliably and safely. It will allow sensitive data in clinical trial applications to be

shared consistent with rigorous privacy and ethical requirements

BLOCKCHAIN

Smart contracts and medical care. Blockchain can provide individual patients with

high-integrity medical services, covering medical data acquisition and analysis, risk

assessment and management, clinical decision-making and care planning and work-

ow management. At the higher organizational and health service provider level it can

provide more secure, higher-quality information analysis services, expenditure control,

resource optimization, medical learning and analytics, and many other applications.

Multidisciplinary and distributed clinical teams. In the decentralized, information-shar-

ing model that is inherent to blockchain, doctors and other healthcare providers will

be able to work together and share their knowledge to optimize individual care plans

and manage them over time.

Combining AI and blockchain. NiMEDix blockchain and smart contract technology can

be applied to the medical AI eld to help conduct clinical research and routine care. It

will provide a platform for clinical decision making (clinical investigation, diagnosis,

etc.), management of care (treatment, workow, monitoring, etc.), and particularly

distributed services and knowledge sharing.

Patients build their own medical records in take part in decision making and care.

Using articial intelligence and blockchain implementation as a core, NiMEDix ecosystem

eliminates administrative obstacles in patient care, the functionality of the platform solves a

global problem with an inherent capacity to be personalized.

USE CASE 1

ADMINISTRATIVE OBSTACLES IN ACCESSING CARE IN TRADITIONAL MODELS

NIMEDIX BLOCKCHAIN SOLUTION

1. Workow Optimization

Traditional systems are riddled with unnecessary back and forth movements and tasks

redundancies putting administrative bureaucracy before patient care. Clients and patients

wait very long hours on queues to make payments or get access to care.

Use CASE 2; Interoperability

The fragmented obsolete centralized system will require a patient or client to repeat every

single process (patient history, investigations and treatment) in an event of change of

facility leading to loss of time, money and eventually lives.

Interoperability is a major problem of several healthcare institutions globally and patients

never own their medical records.
