Thinking aloud: Verbalisierung der Gedanken
[email protected] Graz, 5.3.07
Thinking Aloud
Subjective –but one of the most valuable methods in usability engineering!Literally, the user "thinks aloud" whilst going through tasks and their thoughts are recorded.Designers can then see what the user was thinking at the time of having problems.Reveals not only what the problems are, but why!

Problem: Wie halten wir den THA-Output fest?
1. Papier & BleistiftVorteil: einfach, kostengünstig, unauffälligNachteil: langsam, fehleranfällig, anstrengend2. Software loggingVorteil: exakte InteraktionsdatenNachteil: große Datenmengen; Analyse-Tools notwendig3. Audio RecordingVorteil: gut reproduzierbar; relativ unauffälligNachteil: Kein Konnex zum UI4. Video RecordingVorteil: Konnex Gestik, Mimik, Interaktion; Nachteil: aufwendig, auffällig = „intrusive“, oft zwei
Kameras notwendig – oder Spiegel!

A) Gruppe: 1 Versuchsperson, 1 "Computer", 2 Kameraassistenten, 1 VersuchsleiterInB) Prototyp: 1 Rapid Prototype (Mock-up)C) Aufgabe: 1 gut ausführbare und messbare Task (what can be measured can be done)
Die potentiellen Versuchspersonen sollen "blind" ausgewählt werden, um eine Taskauszuführen, die sie nicht selbst entwickelt haben
Auch möglich: 2 Teams: Entwicklung & Test
