Calgary TELUS Convention Centre

Canada’s first purpose-built, full-service convention centre, the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre (CTCC) has 122,000 sq. ft. of dedicated convention space, some 47,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space, five pre-function areas and 36 meeting rooms.

A hub for local, national and international conventions, congresses, meetings and events, it is an integral part of the city centre. Each year, thousands of people visit the CTCC as well as nearby shops, restaurants, businesses, services and attractions. The facilities connect to three four-star hotels: the Hyatt Regency Calgary, the Fairmont Palliser Calgary and the Calgary Marriott Downtown Hotel.

BMO Centre Calgary Stampede Park

Bring your shades. Calgary gets a lot of sunshine, about 2,400 hours a year, making it the sunniest major city in Canada. There are plenty of ways to enjoy the sun from enjoying a drink on a patio to exploring the city’s abundant green spaces and paths.

Warm winds, called Chinooks, blow in from the west and raise the temperature, turning winter into spring, by as much as 15 degrees, in just a few hours.

Calgary Stampede, the “Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth” is 10 days of action packed rodeo, music, food, excitement and good old fashioned western hospitality. The Calgary Stampede has been going strong for more than 100 years and attracts more than one million visitors every July, making it the highest grossing festival in Canada.

Calgary’s +15 Skywalk system is the world’s largest indoor, pedestrian pathway network. The weather-protected walkways are about 15 feet above the ground level and run for a total of 11 miles. The +15 links Calgary’s downtown connecting shops, restaurants and offices.

Four UNESCO World Heritage sites are within 2.5 hours of Calgary: Head west to the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks or northeast to Dinosaur Provincial Park and the Canadian Badlands. Whether you drive to one or make time to see all, Alberta’s natural landscape is sure to impress.
