The Ice Age Discovery Center is located on the Snowmass Village Mall. Parking is provided in lots 4, 5, 8 and 9.

More events are scheduled Wednesdays through Aug. 13. They are all free and open to the public.

Walk on the Wild Side Garry Zabel

Discussion at the Ice Age Discovery Center from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Later, 5:30 to 7 p.m., there will be a hike up the Rim Trail above the reservoir for a glaciology/geology walking lecture. Come prepared to hike and provide your own transportation to the trailhead.

Mammoth ResidentsMeet the former

In October 2010 excavators working at the Ziegler Reservoir in Snowmass Village made an astonishing discovery. The site was the final resting place of 41 different kinds of Ice Age animals including mammoths, mastodons, giant bison and more. It is one of the most significant discoveries in North America. Bring the kids and learn more about the discovery!
