MEDICINE FOR TREATMENT OF COVID

A meeting was conducted on the Feasibility of using Indian System of

Medicine for treatment of COVID

(SDPC) Conference Hall, Ezhilagam, Chennai

was chaired by Thiru. C. Ponnaiyan, Hon’ble Vice

Meshram I.A.S., Member Secretary SDPC and senior officials participated in the

meeting.

The dignitaries presented the treatment modalities available in the

Indian Systems of Medicine viz. Ayurvedha, Siddha, Unani, Yoga and Naturopathy

to combat the COVID pandemic, highlighting its success in reducing the viral load

and hospital stay. They also elucidated the significant role of Kabasura Kudineer in

treating COVID-19.

The Hon’ble Vice-Chairman, SDPC suggested the Director of Indian

Medicine & Homoeopathy to give more thrust to IEC activities and mass campaigns

on the Traditional Systems of Medicinethrough Print media, Electronic media and

also Social media. The Member Secretary suggested creation of awareness on the

importance of indigenous medicines (especially Kabasura Kudineer) through short

films and the samecould be repeatedly telecast for adherence by the public.

In order to propagate the efficacy of the Indian System of Medicine

through well documented clinical trials as per Medical Protocol, proposals for

conducting research studies have been sought.
