November Mission Prayer Focus The Persecuted Church
November 7 was the International Day of Prayer with the Persecuted Church. Please pray:
1. that God will equip secret believers in dangerous places with the conviction and courage to follow
him;
2. for women believers forced to follow Jesus in secret for fear of
violence or death from their families;
3. that children affected by persecution will know God’s love for
them;
4. for God to be the rock, comforter, protector, healer and hope of
our persecuted brothers and sisters.

Pray for God’s guidance and protection for believers now refugees in nearby countries, seeking asylum in safer countries;
Pray for Christian agencies helping Afghanistan dealing with the extreme famine that is sweeping the country—that God’s love and light would shine through them;

Christmas is coming!! It’s time to start collecting delicious items for this year’s
Hospital Hampers. SCC will be delivering these gifts to people
who are in GCUH on Christmas Day. This is a great
opportunity to connect with our local community while putting
smiles on the faces of those who are sick.
We have 450 hampers to fill and, as in previous years, we are
asking our church family to assist. Listed below are items that can be donated to this
ministry. Donations of money are also helpful to purchase the balance of items needed
(drop into the office, mark your offering envelope or direct deposit using the reference
“Hampers”). A box for your donations can be found in the Church Foyer .
Helpers are needed for assembling the hampers on THURSDAY 16 DECEMBER from
8.30am
If you have any questions or want to help, please contact the church office during the week.

Carols Date Change **Important**
With this week’s release of COVID restriction changes, locked in for December 17, and the
lack of clarity for churches and the level of restriction churches may face, our Christmas
Carols leadership team including Steve Peach has made the decision to reschedule this year's
Carols event to 11 and 12 December 2021. The change brings our Friday and Saturday
events a week forward from our original plan.
Our Carols have always been a tremendous event for
SCC to engage our local community and we trust it
will be again this year. We apologise if this change
has caused any inconvenience, and we look forward to seeing you there with a friend.
A Christmas event for the whole family featuring nativity play, carols, markets, live music, free
rides, kids’ activities and more!
$10 entry fee for adults , children under 18 free
Gates open 3pm. Performance begins at 5pm. Parking available onsite.

Angel Tree Prison Ministry The ANGEL TREE Prison Ministry is designed to reach the innocent
victims of crime who are often forgotten.... Children of prisoners. Being
separated from a parent at Christmas time is a painful experience.
ANGEL TREE touches those children with the love of Christ at Christmas
by providing them with special Christmas gifts. SCC will be participating
in Angel Tree again this year. Watch this space in the coming weeks for an update on how you
can help. If you would like to more information, call Melanie on 0407 958 894.
