The VOLT Fund – Any eligible small and minority, veteran and women-owned business in Maryland may access loans of between $25,000 to $500,000 for purposes such as business and commercial real estate acquisition and expansion, lease-hold improvements, equipment and vehicle purchase, and working capital. Arundel Community Reinvestment (ACR) Fund - Provides low interest loans to qualified owners whose property or business is located in one of the county’s revitalization districts. Financing is typically used for making significant facsade, exterior and interior improvements. Commercial Revitalization AAEDC’s Community Reinvestment initiative aims to improve blighted commercial corridors in any of the eight designated revitalization districts in the county. Property owners can qualify for a property tax credit if they renovate an existing building or take on the new construction or redevelopment of a commercially or industrially zoned property. In addition, about 1,600 acres in Brooklyn Park are a designated state Enterprise Zone. Property owners in the zone can access additional incentives aimed at improving vacant properties and encouraging business retention, expansion, and job creation.
