Planet-
Friendy
Hotel Punta Islita has developed in full synergy with its neighbors: a collective
of about nine tiny rural communities with a total population of about 1400.
By opting out of an enclave-style hotel model and pioneering an international-
ly-recognized sustainability program, Hotel Punta Islita has secured a win-win
partnership with optimal resource stewardship. Reforestation, species recov-
ery and protection, water conservation, local employment, and support for
education and a unique Community Art Museum ensure the health of Islita.
Today, Islita is not only a globally-recognized destination, but a thriving region
characterized by a dynamic natural environment and a successful collective of
travel professionals, community artists, and micro-entrepreneurs. More than
85% of its staff is local, including its regional manager.
Experiences
Hotel Punta Islita’s wonderful
natural setting grants ideal
opportunities to experience
the excitement of pristine eco
-systems. Adventures include
canopy zip-lining, horseback
riding, kayaking, hiking,
surfing, monkey safaris, turtle
expeditions, and more! Cul-
tural experiences include culi-
nary journeys, visiting the lo-
cal community art museum
and artist studios, and explor-
ing the small neighboring
communities to sample Costa
Rica’s authentic friendship
and hospitality.
Embedded in lush tropical gardens, Hotel Punta Is-
lita’s Casa Spa is the hearth of pampered wellness
and relaxation. From the moment you are greeted
with a soothing cup of just-brewed herbal tea, you
will feel the warmth of its homelike ambiance.
Beauty and wellness rituals, Costa Rican traditional
healing arts, and local herbalist wisdom are artfully
combined to gently ease out modern stress.
