Death

Some people think death is like a horror movie, creeping into your dreams.

Waking you up in a hot sweat, as if someone had shone a light in your face for hours.

Nobody thinks about the good things about death, it seems…

But yet, it's not something you ponder about while you stand in your morning shower.

There are more good than bad things that come with death as it takes over your body.

For example, the only bad thing that comes to mind is the haunting figure in the movies that wears the black hood and grips a weapon in his hand.

The good things are simple, such as in heaven, your bread is never soggy,

And there are always those places that have salt water and sand,

And love will never slip away from you, fading into the cold, black darkness.

Someone will always be by your side, whether it's your lover, or a friend.

Someone to catch you as you fall off of life's cliffs.

Someone who will never run out of money, I mean love, to lend.

You will watch over all of your loved ones on Earth for all of eternity, keeping your

hand on their shoulder.

Letting them know that you will never leave their side, dead or alive.

Helping them step over little pebbles instead of big boulders.

Because without our loved ones in our hearts, no one would survive.

Tears

Tears fall Raindrops to the ground

Splattering on impact Animals take cover

Protecting their young under the warmth of their wing Rain stops

BOOM Rain starts

"God's taking a shower" "The angels are bowling"

NO There is nothing to joke about

When tears fall Pounding on the ground so hard it hurts

The animals ponder Is it love? Is it hurt?

Is it abandonment? What could be the cause of the tears this time?

Because every time it rains Tears fall

Guitar Strings

My slender fingers hover above the rough, twisted strings. My mind's racing a million miles an hour, thinking of the song I'll play. I close my eyes and think... Think as if it was the SAT's, not some silly song. But, it's not just a silly song, as people may think. The notes fill your ears and put your mind in a state of peace, Rocking it to sleep like a child in its mother's arms. The sweet melody slowly strummed by the musician, Giving you a different perspective on music completely. Whether it's a mariachi band or a street performer, The sound of the guitar never gets old, as if it's your favorite food with no expiration date. All this goes through my mind as I sit with my eyes closed, Thinking, Waiting, Breathing. The crowd silently watches as I start to pluck the first note. A smile dances across my face as I listen to my own music. When the last sound echoes through the sound hole, I exhale. A beat of silence fills the room with tension. Applause.
