This time, Iwant us to remind ourselves onwhatdoes it mean to work at MEGST and the mainpurpose of our training program. Working atMEGST means that we are in the business oftrainingyoungChristians for theministryofChristinMyanmarandbeyond.Trainingconveystheideaofproducingtrainer-likedministers.Thisconviction

challengesusthatourwords,action,andcharacterareveryimportantbecausethosearethethingsthat influencedthestudents.Knowingwellthattruth,PauladmonishedyoungTimothy to “watch his life and doctrine closely” (1 Tim. 4:16). Training also involvedimpartingknowledgeanddevelopingministerialskillsinthelifeofstudents.Itisverysadthat,intheologicaltraining,manyleadersmissedthistruthbecausetheydonotknowthemainpurposeoftheirtrainingprogram.

Torepeat,thechiefpurposeofourtrainingistoimpartbiblicalknowledgethattransformsthestudents’ lifestyle intoChrist-likedlifestyle inservingtheneedsofthepeople.Christ-liked lifestyle means living a holy life, teaching his words correctly, imparting biblicalknowledgeandministerialskillsintothestudent’slifetomakethemHisdynamicdisciples.Toaccomplishthisgreatpurpose,wemuststandandworktogetherinunityasateaminthebusinessofproducingdisciplesforChristandHismission.

MeetingwithMECAleadersandBoardMembers

On the evening of June 15,MEGSTfaculty/staff and Board membersmet with MECA leaders at MEGST.Manythingswerediscussedsuchasstudent affairs, public relations,academic and financial issues, andthe challenges thatMEGST is facingfor the future. The meeting wentvery well and was historic forMEGST. After the meeting, MECAleaders and Board members visited the library and classrooms. There were alsoopportunitiesfornetworkingwithcertainMECAleadersoverdinnerthatevening.Infact,this meeting resulted in building a strong relationship between MECA leaders, BoardmembersandMEGSTfaculty/staff.

MEGSTBuilding“Relationship”withtheChurchesinYangon,Myanmar

MEGSTexists to train students tobeChrist-like leaders for thechurches inMyanmar. Inordertopursueourvisioneffectively,startingfromlastyear,wehavesetasideadayofvisitingchurches inYangononceamonth.Thepurposeof thevisit is twofold: tobuildamutualrelationshipbetweenchurchesinMyanmarandMEGSTandtopromoteMEGSTfor

studentrecruitment.Thesevisitsfarexceededourexpectations.Wevisited five churches in the last2017-2018 academic year. They were: ChristianCity Church, Grace AG Church, Believer Church,Tammwe Christ Church, and Tiddim BaptistChurch.Whenwe visited them,MEGST studentspresented a special choir or dance and facultytalkedaboutMEGST,followedbyashortsermon.After the service, we had wonderful fellowshipwiththechurchleadersandmembers.Oneofthegreatestbenefitsofourvisitsisthatitstrengthensrelationships. Visiting churches helps us know

theirneedsandhowtoprayforthem.Moreover,itwasreallyencouragingtoseeGodatwork indifferentchurches,withdifferentstylesand indifferent locations.Therefore,weareplanningtovisitmorechurchesinthis2018-2019academicyear.PleaseprayforusaswevisitthechurchesaroundYangonsothatwemaybuildhealthyrelationshipswiththemandbeachannelofblessingtothem.

MEGST’sFootballCup

MEGST’sFootballCuphasbeencelebratedagain. It’saimistohelpthestudentswiththeir physical fitness and to buildrelationships between students, staff andfaculty.Thisannualactivityeventhelpsthecommunity to care for and be connectedto one another. With new talented firstyear players, MEGST football season thisyear looked exciting. The wholecommunityjoinedMEGST’sCupwithgreatenthusiasm.Owingtotheimpressiveperformanceofallcaregroups,MEGSTFootballCup2018 was more competitive and exciting than previous years. At the end, Godzone,winning all the matches, were the champions. One of the best parts was that facultyvoluntarily donated the football ground fee. Overall, our MEGST community has madegreatmemories,andbuiltandstrengthenedrelationships,justthroughplayingfootball.

ASpecialSeminar

MEGST was privileged to have Dr. Ajith Fernando, awell-knownChristianleaderandauthorofmanybooksincluding “JesusDrivenMinistry,”who spoke touson7thJuly.Dr.Fernandoledaspecialseminaronthetopicof“SpiritualParenting,”basedon1Thessalonians2:17,followed by a ‘questions and answers’ time. It was ablessed time, with the whole MEGST communityfeeling refreshed and challenged about the effectivemodelofspiritualparentinginMyanmarChurches.Indeed,itwasanafternoonwellspent.

AAMScholarship

Withmorethan350graduatesoutthere,MEGSTisveryproudofformerstudentslocatedindifferentpartsofMyanmarandbeyond,servingtheLORDinmissions,ministriesandinacademia.Moreover,itisveryencouragingtolearnAAM’sannualcommitmenttosupporta first-year student who cannot afford the cost of studies here. Millions of thanks areexpressedtowardseverysinglealumnusofMEGST.
