Review 2014 course selections. 1) Complete the Sign-up Form using a computer to enter your information in the blanks; 2) Save a copy of the Form for your records; 3) Print completed Form; and 4) Mail Form and check for $315 Yearly CJE Support Fee --SAME ENVELOPE-- payable to ICJE by February 7, 2014. Yearly CJE Support Fee for clerks is $125 for those who wish to enroll in the optional Clerks’ course (deadline April 30, 2014). Counties may combine payments for Magistrates in one check. Counties may also combine payments for Clerks in one check. Do not combine Clerk and Judge payments. Senior Magistrates are fee-exempt. Ensure check amount corresponds to number of Sign-up Forms in envelope or your registration will be delayed. O.C.G.A. 15-10-137 states Mandatory Continuing Judicial Education (MCJE) requirements for Georgia Magistrate Court Judges. New, non-attorney Magistrates must attend two, 40-hour certification courses within 24 months of taking office. All other Magistrates must earn 12 MCJE hours in 2014. “If a Magistrate or Senior Magistrate completes training hours in excess of the number of hours required by the Council, credit for the training so completed, not to exceed six hours, shall be carried over and applied to the next calendar year.” Training Certificates will be issued via email (PDF) from the AOC. It is your responsibility to make sure the Administrative Office of the Courts has your correct email address. You may contact [email protected] or [email protected]. Yearly CJE Support Fee and travel expenses are to be borne by local government. NEW IN 2014: You will receive course confirmation/receipt by email. You may also receive other course information by mail.
