Dear Brethren:

I am pleased to present to you the Magazine “Memory & Wages” which is no more than a compila-tion of facts of great relevance for the History of our Symbolic Grand Lodge of Paraguay. Just as the dossier “Truth between Columns” had the expected repercussion, this material points out to events in our recent history which was built by Masons who work in Lodges within our Grand Lod-ge. “Memory & Wages” shows us another side to the “Truth between columns”, one of the silent laborer, that of prudence and intelligence, of diplomacy and above all uprightness. At the end of the day, these actions are efforts and sacrifices translated into successful works. To-day we can look back on those bitter moments we went through in 2005 after the schism. All the brethren who belong to this Grand Lodge are responsible for its achievements, it is however just the beginning of a harsh battle to establish Masonic principles in a society so empty of them.

The eternal gratitude to all, to each of the brave workers who defend a cause that is common to all of Universal Freemasonry. The soundness of the Symbolic Grand Lodge of Paraguay lies in that criteria, positions, points of view can be negotiated , but never can principles be negotiated. Loyalty, goodness and Love for humanity have won the battle. Here then “Memory & Wages”…

The institucionalist spirit of the Symbolic Grand Lodge of Paraguay that had suffered a blow in 2005 has once again triumphed and today is the reflection of the practice of Masonic principles and of allot of work. The truth has already been revealed “Between Columns”, now we shall present the wages that were earned…

Although this material does not intend to be the second part of the Dossier “The Truth between Co-lumns” published in the year 2.011, it does not stop short of being a tool that complements the latter publication. Memory & Wages as in “The truth bet-ween Columns” illustrates with documents, which were the most relevant events after the recognition of the Inter American Masonic Conference ratified

on April 15th in Guayaquil, Ecuador. For this reason and after the participation in May of the same year of the Symbolic Grand Lodge of Paraguay in the World Conference of Grand Lodges in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia that this magazine reached the ne-cessary relevance .Without additional words the rest of the story star-ted where it should have started…

In silence and with prudence on September 14th a delegation of the Symbolic Grand Lodge of Paraguay, headed by the President of the Grand Commission on Foreign Relations Bro. Raúl Pintos Grassi with Bro. José Fernandéz Zacur, Bro. Fernando Ramos and Bro. Daniel Morrison were received by the Grand Chan-cellor of the United Grand Lodge of England Bro. Alan Englefield and the members of his cabinet . In such an occasion the situation of the Symbolic Grand Lodge was presented through the dossier “The truth between columns “which was reviewed and discus-sed. After which the delegation participated of the Quarterly Communications (trimonthly Assembly at the Grand Lodge of England) which was held at the Freemasons Hall .

The findings of the English research on the situation of Paraguayan Masonry concluded with the resolu-tion notified by the Grand Chancellor Englefield on December 2nd 2011 in which he stated “…”

Euclides Aceve-do and Grand Past Grand Master MW Bro. Ignacio Mendoz Unzain, the President of the Grand Comis-

sion on Foreign Relations MWBro. Raul Pintos Grassi and the MW Bro. Oscar Pablo Monzon and several other Bros. participated in the last meeting of the year for the United Grand Lodge of England .

Grand Master MW Bro. Euclides Acevedo had an active participation in the confe-rence of Grand Masters of North America.

Resolution of the Commission for Information and Recognition of the Conference of Grand Masters of North America.

The United States resolves not to recognize either Grand Lodge

The Conference of Grand Masters of North Ameri-ca took place in Atlanta , Georgia from the 19th to the 21st of February 2012, and was attended by the Grand Master of The Symbolic Grand lodge of Para-guay RW Bro. Euclides Acevedo who was accompa-nied by Bro. José Fernandez Zacur , President of the Grand Legal commission .

The final results of this Conference have been favo-rable to the Symbolic Grand Lodge of Paraguay since the Conference of Grand Masters of North America has decided not to Grant recognition to either Grand Lodge therefore in effect lifting the recognition it had for the Grand Lodge headed by RW Bro. Qui-ñonez. The commission for Information and Recog-nition has decided it should deepen its understan-ding of the conflict within Paraguayan Masonry and therefore decided best not to grant recognition to either of the Grand Lodges involved.

Lies, the sameold ways…It is regrettable that the electronic bulletin that transmits news for the Grand Orient of Paraguay headed by the Grand Master RW Bro. Carlos Quiño-nez has intentionally distorted the information sent out to Bros. saying “THE CENTENNIAL GRAND LOD-GE OF PARAGUAY DOES NOT LOSE ITS RECOGNITION however the other Grand Lodge formed in 2006 does not fill the requirements to be recognized”.It is a real pity that in modern times where Webs, emails and social networks are everyday use some might still try and make a mock out of Brethren´s intelligence.

With lies unity can No be built –Informative Bulletin #1580 of February 21 2012 whereby they claim to be the only recognized by the Conference of Grand Masters of North America

Recognition continues to be firm for the Centennial Grand Lodge of Paraguay Orient of Atlanta, Grand orient of the United States of America. Grand Master MW Bro. Carlos Alberto Quiñonez and the Grand Chancellor Bro. José Daniel Nasta of the Centennial Symbolic Grand Lodge of Paraguay made their presentation before the Commission for recognition for the Grand Lodges of United States of America on this Tuesday February 21st 2012. After which the commission decided;“THE CENTENNIAL SYMBOLIC GRAND LODGE OF PARAGUAY DOES NOT lose its recognition however the other Grand Lodge founded in 2006 does not fulfill the requirements to obtain it“ The commission still recommends the Unification of both Grand Lodges and in such respect the Grand Master MW Bro. Carlos Alberto Quiñoez has said he has placed everything forth to obtain such a longed for objective. Regrettably the Executive Secretary of the CMI, Rafael Aragon Guevara has shown bias inventing resolutions of the Executive Committee with which he has severed the desire of Paraguayan Masons. Today more than ever dialogue and a continuation of negotiations are fundamental in obtaining a strengthening of Paraguayan Masonry. We will continue working, more so knowing that the light still shines on our CENTENNIAL SYMBOLIC GRAND LODGE OF PARAGUAY

CMI Assembly in Brasilia

One of the Meeting of the CMI in Brasilia, the Grand Master of Spain MW Bro. Oscar de Alfonso, Grand Masterr of Paraguay MW Bro. Euclides Acevedo and the Grand Master of Costa Rica MW Bro. Juan Diego Castro Fernandez.

The most important conclusions of the XXII Assembly of the Inter American Masonic conference took place on Saturday April 14th. As was expected, since cus-toms and regulations establish it so, the Presidency is assigned to the Grand Lodge or Masonic obedience who organizes the assembly, therefore it was bes-towed upon the Grand Orient of Brazil in the person of the Grand Master RW Bro. Marcos José Da Silva The position of Executive Secretary was filled from among a shortlist of three candidates; the Past Grand Master RW Bro. Hernando Osorio Rico (Grand Lod-ge of Colombia from Cartagena de Indias), RW Bro. Eduardo Retiz (Grand Lodge of the Valley of México) and Past Grand Master RW Bro. Tomás Álvarez Man-rique (Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Perú). The assembly finally decided upon RW Bro. Tomás Álvarez who was elected Executive Secretary.

A very important issue, from the point of view of the Symbolic Grand Lodge of Paraguay has been the dispute to host the next CMI assembly in 2015. In a tight vote the Portugal/Spain duo won the right to host the assembly by 30 to 22 votes in favor of Paraguay. However the assembly voted unanimously to grant the Symbolic Grand Lodge of Paraguay the organization of its Extraordinary Assembly to be hos-ted in the city of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, ca-pital of Paraguay. It is no doubt, a great achievement for Paraguayan Masonry to have more than 70 Grand Lodges visit our capital at the end of this year 2013.

The 35th annual meeting of the CMI was held in the City of Luque, Paraguay during the month of October 2012, at which time the authorities took advantage of the meeting of the 6th Zone to hold an Extraordinary Meeting of the Executive Council. The new Masonic Building of theSymbolic Grand Lodge of paraguay

The Symbolic Grand Lodge of Paraguay has purcha-sed a corner property in an excellent location, at #6411 of R.I. 2 Ytororo street and Lopez Moreira, which will be in a short time the headquarters for the Grand Lodge. The project has been finished, and in a few days crews will break ground. It is estimated the inaugu-ration of this world class complex will it will take pla-ce within a year. It will have a total of five temples, four temples with a capacity for one hundred people each and a Grand temple with two levels with a capacity for 500 people. Without a doubt this is a great achievement for the Grand Lodge since the time it was stripped of its temples in 2005 by profane power.

para-masonic bodies that are dependent of the Symbolic Grand Lodge of paraguay

oRdEn dEMoLAyThe DeMolay order is sponsered by the Symbolic Grand Lodge of Paraguay and has obtained its Inter-national DeMolay License USA on April 4th 2008. At the time the Grand Master named Bro.Fernando Ra-mos as Executive officer of the Order for Paraguay, this position was later filled by Bro. Carlos Cabrera and recently for Bro. Marco Herrero.

ShRInERS CLUB pARAGUAyThe Shrinners Club Paraguay is dependent upon the ABOU SAAD temple of Pana-ma and the Central Shrinners office in Tampa Florida; it was created with the arrival of Nobles from Panama in November 2009.At this time it has 71 members and possesses legal status since 2011. The first and present president is Noble Cesar Balbuena, the Vice president Noble Arnaldo Fru-tos, Secretary Noble Alex Sarubi and Treasurer Noble Oscar Brizuela.Up to this date several activities have been carried out with in the different com-mittees. The clown committee is constantly visiting kids in different hospitals of the country. The fund raising committee is constantly organizing activities to fulfill its purpose. Magic Seminars have been developed with Noble Nisugan and Noble Nisugan Jr. to teach other Nobles how to act with an audience of kids. Theatre plays have been held to raise funds as well as raffles within the brethren.Just a short time ago Maria Lujan was sent to a Shrinner hospital in Mexico to be operated on, due to problems with her back. Today the objective is to consolidate the club with the actual membership looking to becoming a temple in the near future reporting directly the the offices of the Imperial Potentate. A longer term objective would be to build a Hospital so as to become the center for Shrinner activities in South America. It is important to mention the recent visit by the Past Potentate of the Abou Saad Col. Davis Stevenson who stressed the work that is been carried out by the Shrinner Club of Paraguay.Shortly a delegation of five Nobles will be travelling to Florida in response to an invitation of the Imperial Potentate to participate in an East –West Shrine Game to be held in Tropicana Field on January 19th.

The DeMolay order has chapters wor-king across the whole country, in cities as Pedro Juan Caballero, Encarnación, Ciudad del Este and Asunción. At the time there are about 200 ne-phews without considering the Senior DeMolay.

Finally, these are the results of more than seven years of hard work and constant effort sin that dark day of November 10th of 2005 in which almost half of the brethren we kicked out of the temple of the Symbolic Grand Lodge. Without temple , without funds, with no documents but above all with dignity. These are the results of applied Masonic principles , living by the square.

Today the Symbolic Grand Lodge of Paraguay is consolidated, strengthened and more than ever committed to fight against tyranny, lies and ambition. More than seventy Lodges form part of it with approximately two thousand brothers, proud of the international recognition which backs the actions taken by the Grand Lodge.
