In partnering with King County in disposal of Newcastle’s solid waste, the City needs to comply with andintegrate the following goals and policies in its city comprehensive plan.

Monitor the ability to transition away from recycling collectionevents as enhanced recyclingservices are provided at renovated transfer stations, as improved bulky item collectionbecomes available curbside, and as product stewardship programs emerge.

Work with food producers, grocers, restaurants, and schools to donate surplus meals andstaplefood items to localfood banks [County in cooperation withcities].
