Menu’s philosophy is simple. We want to make the world better, less complicated, a little bit nicer to wake up to.

Collaborating with super-talented designers, we make objects to be treasured now… and forever. Quite simply,

Menu wants to make your favourite things. We work with some of the most exciting and driven creative individuals

from the worlds of architecture and design to produce high quality design with a crisp Scandinavian look.

Menu believes in making design matter and we are obsessed with clever solutions for modern living: a coffee table

with a hidden storage compartment, a shelving unit designed to grow as its owner expands into a bigger apartment.

Our products are not defined by a single style. What unifies them is a shared aesthetic. We call it Scandinavian “soft

minimalism” – characterised by understatement, a respect for design history and a belief that the best design should

make us feel something.

Wherever we can, we work locally with craftspeople around the world, preserving skills while creating the best

modern design.

Details

It is used everyday, therefore it deserves to be

beautiful as well as practical. That was the

philosophy of pioneering designer and architect

Grethe Meyer (1918-2008), a trailblazer for

women in the industry. Grethe designed for

the way people live, spending hours watching

and analysing before putting pen to paper.

The lamp is available in two sizes. Hang one

over the dining table, two smaller ones as a

pair, or install together in bunches.

The Duane pendant is the newest member

lamps by Søren Rose for Menu. Launched in

2014, Tribeca is inspired by the glamour of

New York in the late 1930s, with a decidedly

industrial feel. The collection’s name is inspired

by lower Manhattan’s Tribeca district.

Design is an art of storytelling according to

Copenhagen duo Iskos-Berlin, and their Dancing

Pendant puts that principle into practice.

Exquisite yet with a playful twist, the lamp has

the look of a dancer’s pleated skirt caught

flaring-up mid-twirl. A partnership between

two of Scandinavia’s leading young designers,

Boris Berlin and Aleksej Iskos, the studio is

committed to sustainability. Dancing Pendant

is made from PET felt, a 100% recycled material

produced mainly from used water bottles.

Details

The Tribeca series of lamps started with a

journey. Søren Rose travelled across America

on a mission to collect beautiful lamps dating

back to the early-mid 20th century. The Danish

designer, who lives and works in New York, took

his finds back to his studio, dismantled them,

separated their parts and reassembled them,

mixing and matching lamps as he went along.

Out of this experimentation Tribeca was born

– a fresh perspective on iconic modern design.

Warren Table Lamp is favourite in Søren Rose’s

Tribeca lighting series for Menu. Søren is a multi-

talented Danish creative with a background in

photography. In 2008 he fulfilled his dream of

opening a lighting studio. He lives and works in

New York.

“A lamp with personality” is how Peek Table

Lamp has been described. Jonas Wagell’s

quirky yet utterly practical Peek Series began

with a floor lamp, created to accompany a

sofa he designed. “I find that floor lamps are

often big and dominant,” Jonas explains. An

antidote to overbearing lamps, he conceived

his new lamp to literally “peek” over a sofa or

armchair. The proportions have shrunk for the

Table Lamp, with a dip in the top of the base for

needful things – earplugs or jewellery.

Honest materials – concrete and brass – are

transformed into a lamp of beauty by Stockholm-

based designer Jonas Wagnell. Inspired by

traditional oil lamps, he brings these materials

together into a design that is both raw and

delicate. It has been noted that JWDA Concrete

Lamp fits perfectly into any style of interior,

ready to adorn a bedside table, desk or sofa

table. Which suits Jonas just fine: “I want to

create products that can be used every day

Lighting can be innovative or simple, but rarely

does it excel at being both. American designer

Shane Schneck – working from Office for

Design, his studio in Stockholm – strives for both,

bridging the worlds of design and technology.

The cleverly designed silicone lamp Bollard

may look like a simple pendant, but it is in fact

four lamps in one. Hang it from the ceiling as

a pendant, angle it as spotlight, place casually

on shelf or use to beam light up by placing on

its foot.
