Key Club’s Major Emphasis “Children: Their Future, Our Focus”
In 1946, Key Club International challenged all Key Clubs and
members to focus energies on making an international impact.
This program still is followed today through the Major Emphasis:
“Children: Their Future, Our Focus.”
To fulfill the mission of the Major Emphasis, Key Club Interna-
tional serves children in many ways. Members participate in the
hands-on service initiative, currently The Eliminate Project, and
fundraise for Key Club International’s partner organizations: Chil-
dren’s Miracle Network, March of Dimes and UNICEF.
Dive in to find information on popular service projects, as well as
resources, support materials and how-to guides to help pull
them off.
Need service project ideas? Download our service project direc-
tory, filled with ideas for hands-on and fundraising service op-
portunities. Projects are divided into levels of difficulty, easy,
moderate, and difficult, to help you get started with whatever
type of project you are interested in tackling. Don't shy away
from harder projects, as the planning and execution effort inten-
sifies, so do the rewards!
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals
is a nonprofit organization that raises
money to benefit hospitalized kids while
increasing awareness of its member hos-
pitals. All CMN Hospitals contributions di-
rectly benefit hospitals, helping to purchase
up-to-date equipment, train staff, conduct
life-saving research, implement outreach
programs and provide health care for chil-
dren whose parents can’t afford to pay.
UNICEF was founded in 1946 to help children in the after-
math of World War II. Now operating in more than 190
countries, it has saved more children than any other hu-
manitarian organization. UNICEF advocates for the protec-
tion of children’s rights and provides services to help meet
their basic needs.
UNICEF does whatever it takes to save and
protect the world's most vulnerable children.
Forty years ago, UNICEF figured out that
promoting simple, low-cost interventions like
hand washing and breastfeeding could save
millions of lives. Undaunted by war or geography,
UNICEF delivers.
In local communities across the country,
we're helping moms take charge of their
health, and supporting families when some-
thing goes wrong. The March of Dimes also
acts globally: sharing best practices in perina-
tal health and helping improve birth out-
comes where the needs are the most urgent.
We're reaching moms
with information on
having full-term and
healthy pregnancies.
Professional educa-
tion and medical re-
sources on topics like premature birth and
birth defects, are helping health care provid-
ers better support their patients.
