from the President,
This is Solstice month – the
shortest day for us will be June
21st, - the ingress into Cancer
being at 12:24 pm here in Perth.
A few days later the light will
start gradually increasing again.
This is an ancient symbol worth
contemplating; we are looking at the concept of the light
being darkened by the flesh or the planet – and learning to
shine forth again. It is a metaphor for spiritual growth.
As I write this we are only just having our first real wintery
showers – it is May 21st, very late for us. My garden is not
happy.
The new Moon that comes in late May [4oGemini] falls in my
9th house of travel; I'm pleased to say I shall be in Singapore
then. Keep tracking your lunations, everyone.
We have a treat coming up in under 2 weeks with a Sunday
presentation from Melanie Dufty at the SPLC. Have a look at
the advert for this inside the MM. Please come and support a
new speaker – Mel is a very good researcher and has
recently passed all her FAA exams, which is an outstanding
accomplishment. Her material on the nodes will refresh our
thoughts on the matter – this topic is of great interest no
matter how traditional or modern we are.
Blessings to all and best wishes;
Jeannette Lewis – Hill

Editorial:
Hello Members,
These are interesting times for some of our members and for a start
I’m delighted to tell you that Jeannette has been offered the position
as the Australian agent to Rob Hand and Benjamin Dykes and will
probably be handling all their commitments over here in the future. Jeannette is
perfectly placed as not only is she an excellent astrologer and well versed in the
traditional methods that Rob and Ben avocate but all three have that “je ne sais
quoi” native American connection. I don’t yet have any more information on the
scope of Jeannette’s responsibilities but suffice it to say she will have her hands
full and I can’t wait to see how this will all actually play out for her. We wish her
well.
Not to be outdone by these revelations is one of our former WA presidents, the
ebullient Edith de Burgh, who has been offered a position on the “Hindsight”
translation team, no less. Those who know Edith will remember she has a brilliant
grasp of the English language but her native tongue is German (Swiss) and
apparently there are still many ancient manuscripts out there to be translated.
She admits to being a little unsure of just how different the ancient German scripts
will be compared to the modern language but fairly confident that given a little
time and practice she can bridge the gap. I’m not sure if she will be allowed to do
this from her home environment or if she will be required to move home but I’m sure
she will make the right decision. We wish her well.
OK, OK……..ENOUGH. So all of the the above is totally untrue/utter rubbish/ a
fabrication/bull dust/a porky, but it appears it’s totally in vogue in this current
Trump era and referred to as “Fake News”. I’ll bet for a moment it made you all sit
up a little straighter though, and wonder if it is or if it isn’t, true that is!
These days Lady Neptune is well and truly weaving her work of deceit, fog, dreams,
illusion, deception and confusion. I feel she just wants to make sure everyone
notices that this year she is celebrationg 100 years since her discovery.
And now down to the real business of the month. Do come along to the South
Perth Learning Centre on Sunday 1st of June for Melanie Dufty’s intriguingly titled
talk “Your Soul Plan and theGrand Plan". Everything little detail you need to know
about the day is following in this issue on page 3.
I look forward to seeing you there.
Warm regards,
Carol Jenkins

P.S. I apologise to Jeannette and Edith humbly and profusely

Your Soul Plan
and the Grand Plan
Sunday 11th
June 2017
Venue: South Perth Learning Centre, 2 – 4 pm
with Melanie Dufty
“For those with an openness to the existence of a higher force in this
universe, and to the concept that we are souls having a human experience.
In the concept of reincarnation, a soul has many lifetimes and in each one,
we can consider our natal astrological set up as a guide on awakening,
releasing or mastering a few key energies. In each lifetime we work out how
to fit a few more jigsaw pieces into a huge picture which is the true self.
I believe that not only do we have an individual plan for each lifetime, but
that humanity as a whole is part of a complementary grand plan for
evolving consciousness."

. . . PLANET WATCH . . .
Regulus (Alpha Leonis) the King Maker
Q: Why are astrologers all over the world talking about the fixed star
Regulus?
A: Because it’s conjunct the upcoming American Eclipse on 21st
August 2017.
In Latin, the name "Regulus" means "little king." Regulus first received its name from the
16th-century astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, the encyclopedia added, "marking the
fact that it had been regarded as one of the leading stars in the sky for some 2,000 years."
In Arabia, and other ancient cultures Regulus was referred to as Malikiyy, "the kingly one".
One of the earliest references to Regulus was in ancient Persia, around 3000 B.C. The star
was listed as one of four "royal stars," first under the name Venant and then Miyan ("the
center", according to the Encyclopedia of Astronomy and Astrophysics.)
The constellation Leo was mentioned in the Tetrabiblos, an ancient Roman text by
Ptolemy (c. A.D. 100 – 170). The text dealt with astrology and the supposed effect of
events in the sky on humanity.
Regal Regulus at 29º Leo has the honor of being the closest star to the ecliptic it entered
the sign Leo in 156 BC although it actually entered the sign Virgo in 2012 AD because of
precession.
Regulus was known as one of the four Archangel signs, Royal Stars of the heavens by the
Persians in 3,000 B.C, the other three being Aldebaran, Fomalhaut, and Antares.
Regulus, in the constellation Leo, is the northern Royal Star. These four Royal Stars
are considered to be sentinels watching over other stars and form
a Fixed Cross in the heavens.
Tasoheter - Michael (Aldebaran) watcher of the East;
Satevis - Oriel (Antares) Watcher of the West;
Hastorang - Gabriel (Fomalhaut) watcher of the South;
Venant - Raphael the Healing Archangel (Regulus) Watcher of the North.
At one time these four stars marked the two Equinoxes and two Solstices. Aldebaran
marked the zero Aries point in 3044 BC, Antares marked zero Libra 3052 BC, Fomalhaut
marked zero Capricorn, 2582 BC, Regulus marked zero Cancer
Midheaven conjunct Regulus: Honor, preferment, good fortune, high office under
Government, military success. If with Sun, Moon or Jupiter, great honor and ample
fortune.
Sun conjunct Regulus: Power, authority, great influence over friends, honor and riches, but
violence, trouble and ultimate disgrace and ruin, sickness, fevers, benefits seldom last.
Sun conjunct Mars conjunct Regulus: This does create quite a problem. These natives are
like pompous kings strutting around and showing their importance. They are always in a
position of authority, and they demand total recognition for their achievements and
abilities. They like to catch others off guard and show off their superiority. They do not
know what the word “humble” means. Their drive and needs are extreme and
overpowering. They strive to go to the very top in the military. These individuals are simply
out of touch with everything except for the acknowledgement of their authority.
The Sun and Mars in conjunction here does affect the health. These persons have too
much energy pumping through the heart, and later on in life when they no longer have
the vitality to feed this, the heart loses some of its elasticity and strength at which time a
critical point is reached. Only a few make it past sixty years of age. They could increase
their lifespan if they learn to be humble, but they would have to start early in life.
Moon conjunct Regulus: Occult interests, powerful friends, danger from enemies and false
friends, gain by speculation, public prominence, great power, honour, wealth, benefits
seldom last, violence, trouble and sickness. Make women high spirited and independent.
If at the same time the Sun is with the Dragon’s Head in Gemini, or Jupiter is in the 10th
house in trine to Mars and the Sun is with the Dragon’s Head, great preferment even from
the lowest sphere to high rank.
Mercury conjunct Regulus: Honourable, just, popular, generosity abused by opponents,
fame, gain through high position.
Venus conjunct Regulus: Many disappointments, unexpected happenings, violent
attachments, trouble through love affairs.
Mars conjunct Regulus: (Donald Trump 29 Leo18′ )
Honour, fame, strong character public prominence, high military command.
This is one who takes command and gives orders.
The commanding personality extends even to their love life, since everyone is
merely a stepping stone for their pleasures and ego.
These persons work well in the military and can achieve high goals and honours here.
Jupiter conjunct Regulus: Fame, high preferment, especially of a military nature, success
in the Church.
Saturn conjunct Regulus: Just, friends among clergy, success in Church or law, scholarly,
wealth, gain through speculation, companies and friends, high position, proud of home
and family, good health, heart trouble at end of life. If angular and especially if rising or
culminating, public honour and credit. If Mars be with the Pleiades, violent death in a
tumult.
Uranus conjunct Regulus: Energetic, ambitious, successful, may be unjust or
dishonourable, self-aggrandizement, high official position, panders to aristocracy,
associated with religion for business purposes, gain through speculation and companies,
favourable for marriage, sorrow through death of daughter and disappointment through
a son; friends become enemies at end of life, may retire and live in seclusion, violent
death through accident or assassination.
Their persons strive to be leaders and almost make it to the top of their objective. They like
to be in government positions in order to control masses of people. Support comes their
way on the road to success, but just when they begin to feel the glory of success,
someone causes their downfall. Something always happens so that they lose the
confidence of their superiors, or the public will lose confidence in the individual. This
happens abruptly and with surprise, and of course, affects the ego tremendously.
Neptune conjunct Regulus: Prominent leader, lawgiver, diplomatic, strong character,
control over others, influential friends, few if any enemies, domestic harmony, natural
death in old age.
Pluto conjunct Regulus: Makes activists in relation to human rights and suspicion about
what big government and corporations are hiding, interest in conspiracy theories.

London c.1825. Image via Wikimedia Commons

Michael Lutin says “We stand at this very moment on the threshold of a new age: the age
of Regulus In Virgo. The Age Of The Common Woman. Looking back about two thousand
years ago, we see that sometime around the time when Regulus entered Leo, the sign
from which it is now departing, Julius Caesar was being born. As were the grandparents of
Jesus Christ.”
Bernadette Brady says “Early English astrologers made it (Regulus) a portent of glory,
riches, and power to all born under its influence” and this fixed star is generally considered
fortunate, courageous, successful and all those great qualities associated with the sun
sign Leo.
Regulus has its negative side. “It gives violence, destructiveness, military honour of short
duration, with ultimate failure, imprisonment, violent death” Bernadette Brady associates
Regulus with downfall. Regulus is pure divine-masculine energy, which these days is often
portrayed in Hollywood at its lowest, crudest vibration.
