CuttingCutting InstructionsPlease note: All strips are cut across the width of fabric (WOF) from selvage to selvage edge unless otherwise noted.WOF= Width of Fabric • LOF = Length of Fabric
Fabric A (4838P-76 Mermaids Rock Banner Panel – Turquoise):• Fussy cut (1) 25 ½” x 18 ½” strip centered on mermaids.• Fussy cut (2) 4 ¾” x 23 ½” strips centered on shell border.
Fabric B (4845-76 Scallop Texture – Turquoise), cut:• (2) 3” x 18 ½” LOF strips.• (2) 3” x 30 ½” WOF strips.
Fabric C (4840-77 Mermaid Toss – Royal), cut:• (1) 30 ½” x 23 ½” strip.
SewingSew using a ¼” seam allowance with right sides together (RST) unless otherwise indicated. Always
press towards the darker fabric while assembling, unless otherwise noted by the arrows.

Fold down top edge ¼” twice and hem.

Unit 1
Pillowcase Assembly 1. Fold down the top edge ¼” twice of (1) 4 ¾” x 23 ½” Fabric A strip and hem to make (1) Pillow Cuff (Fig. 1). Repeat to make a second Pillow Cuff.
2. Sew (1) 3” x 18 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of (1) 25 ½” x 18 ½” Fabric A strip. Sew (1) 3” x 30 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A strip to make (1) Unit 1 block (Fig. 2).

4. Sew (1) Pillow Cuff to the right side of (1) 30 ½” x 23 ½” Fabric C strip to make the Pillowcase Back (Fig. 4).
5. Place the Pillowcase Top and Back right sides together and sew along the top, left side and bottom. Turn the Pillowcase right side out to complete the case (Fig. 5).
3. Sew (1) Pillow Cuff to the right side of the Unit 1 block to make the Pillowcase Front (Fig. 3).
