The disco on Friday 5th December
Packaging up the Cookie Dough Orders this Friday 28 November
The Graduation on 16th December (Year 6) or 17th December (Year 7)
Just let us know! We are offering double Passport Points for all these events.
What’s Happening at Merriwa… The shade for the sensory playground has been ordered. We now have interactive white boards in every classroom. The senior block has a set of lap tops. Pre Primary to Year 2 are using ipads. We are extending our ipad bank next year.
A Sad Farewell... We are sad to let you know of the recent passing of our school psychologist, Nigel Boundy. Nigel was a strong advocate for children and is a great loss to our public school system. Our thoughts are with his family.
SALVATION ARMY CHRISTMAS HAMPER
If you would like to donate to our annual Christmas Hamper, we are taking collections now in the front office. We will present the hamper to the Salvation Army at our Carols by Candlelight Event on 12 December. Your generosity is appreciated.
Smith Family Congratulations to 3 families who have joined this saving scheme and have now earned $500 towards their child’s education. Call Megan on 9440 4147 or 0438 518 603…..if you would like to join for next year.
Kind Regards Mrs Sue Waterhouse Principal

This is a very busy time of the year for families and for the school. Teachers are currently finalising assessment of student progress and formulating student reports which will be available to parents/carers in the final week of term. It has been wonderful to wander through classrooms these past weeks to see the students engaged in a variety of activities and to reflect on how far they have come this year. Upcoming Events Please keep special dates in your diary so that you don’t miss upcoming events:
Friday 5th December: P&C Disco. Years K to 3 from 4.30 to 6pm. Years 4 to 7 from 6.30 to 8pm Tuesday 9th December: Room 26 and 29 Scitech excursion Friday 12th December: Book Awards Assembly from 9am Friday 12th December: Salvation Army Carols on the oval Monday 15th December: School Christmas Concert starts at 8.45am Tuesday 16th December: Student Reports will be sent home Tuesday 16th December: Year 6 students Graduation Day from 10am to 2pm Wednesday 17th December: Year 7 students Graduation Day from 10am to 2pm Thursday 18th December: Last Day for students.
I trust that all families are staying well during these frantic weeks. I hope you are able to attend the many functions that are planned in the coming weeks. It is very important that the school is contacted if your child is away. A phone call or a note in the communication book allows us to comply with the Department requirements. This is an exciting term for music as the students find more
opportunity to showcase their talents. We have our
Christmas concert on Monday 15th December at 9 am and all
the classes have been working hard on their item. The flute
students have been giving up a lot of their time to work
together on a variety of songs. They sound beautiful and it
will be wonderful to hear them perform together for
you. We are also working on the Carols by Candlelight
performance. Thank you for your support and we hope you
enjoy the Christmas concert.
