ENTREPRENEURIAL DEVELOPMENT CLUB 2017-18

The activities of ED Club 2017-18 began with a general body meeting on 4th August 2017

by selecting 101 ED Club members. Ms.Princy Francis is assigned as ED Club co-ordinator and

Ms Biji K.B. and Shiji Ibrahim U as joint co-ordinators. Ms Muhsina Abdul Nasser, III B.Com

Co-operation was elected as ED Club secretary and Aysha Farzana, I BA Mass Communication

as joint secretary. 10 executive members were also selected for the smooth running of the ED

Club. The following are the activities initiated by the ED Club in the academic year 2017-18.

1. Naming ED Club 2017-18

In the executive meeting, “COOPZ MOXIE” has been selected as

ED Club name and decided to launch this name in the DIC Sponsored

Seminar to be conducted in the month of November 2017. The meaning of

“COOPZ MOXIE” is “ platform providing ability to be active”. As name

indicates, the members of the ED Club initiates team work to be a successful

entrepreneur.

2. Seminar on Women Entrepreneurship

On 29th September 2017, ED Club started its

work by conducting a seminar on Women

Entrepreneurship to build up strength and awareness

among college girls regarding women

entrepreneurship. Mr. Jomy Joy and Mr. Praveen

N.K., Junior Chamber International trainees were

the resource persons for the same. It covered mainly

five areas namely grooming and personal hygiene,

office management skills, vision& good manners,

etiquette and women entrepreneurship. It was

interesting and beneficial for all ED Club members.

3. Awareness programme on Hotel Mangement and Catering

ED Club initiated conducting an awareness programme on Hotel Management and

Catering on 7th August 2017. 83 students were enrolled in the Professional Diploma in Hotel

Management and Catering by State Resource Centre, Kerala under the co-ordination of ED

Club. 65 students were passed the theory part and waiting for practical sessions.

4. Workshop on Making household items

Workshop on “Making Household Cleaning Items was conducted by the ED Club on

21st November 2017. A total of 40 students participated in the workshop. The main attraction of

the workshop is the presence of Muhsina Abdul Naser, Nesreen, Razanath V.A., Hafla

Ahammed Habeeb and Shafna Rahim as resource persons. They run the business of household

cleaning items. Soap powder, hand wash, dish wash, phenyl, floor and toilet cleaner are the

items made in the workshop. All products are properly packed for sale. PPT preparation is also

arranged to give the details of the products.

5. Competition on Best Marketing Manager

On 23rd November 2017, competition on “BEST MARKETING MANAGER” was

conducted and all items made in the workshop were sold. Ms Farzana and Ms.Anagha,

I B.Com Co-operation were selected as best marketing managers of the college.

6. DIC Sponsored Seminar

ED Club co-ordinated DIC, Kodungallur sponsored seminar on “Entrepreneurial

Awareness Programme on 24th November 2017. Ms Princy Francis, ED Club co-ordinators

delivered the welcome speech and Dr. Ajims P Muhammed, Principal of MES Asmabi College

presided the seminar. Ms P.R. Sindhu, Asst. Industries Officer Kodungallur Taluk inaugurated

the seminar. Dr. Ajims P Mohammed launched the ED Club name as “COOPZ MOXIE” with

Ms P.R. Sindhu. Certificates and prizes were distributed to the winners of best marketing

manager competition. Memento were distributed to the students who were the resource persons

of the workshop. Ms Shiney C. N., Head of the PG Department of Commerce, Ms Sefiya K.M.,

former ED Club Co-ordinator felicitated the seminar. Kumari Muhsina Abdul Naser, ED Club

Secretary delivered vote of thanks in the seminar.

Mr Akhil Paul, Motivational trainer and director , Vikas Info Zone, Thrissur handled

one session on “Entrepreneurial Development”. Second session was related with DIC Schemes

by Ms. P.R.Sindhu, Asst. District Industires Officer, Kodungallur Taluk. The seminar was a

grand success by all means.

7. Visited Industrial Machine Expo 2018 at Ernakulum conducted by DIC, Thrissur

8. ED Club has secured Best Performing ED Club (college level) in Thrissur district.
