Kidz Meadow Childcare @ Yishun Term 3, 2019 Newsletter
Message from Principal
There is no greater satisfaction than watching each and every
child thriving in their development. Term 3 has been a remarkable
term for our children. We had educational learning journeys and
were involved in community programmes where children were able to
learn beyond their classrooms as active learners and thinkers. Many
thanks to our parent volunteers who had joined us for the
fieldtrips during the National Day, The Heritage trail, Singapore
Zoo and the Finale of Start Small Dream Big (SSDB). We hope to
continue to engage our parents in other activities in the future.
This year, once again, we had been invited by Chong Pang CC to take
part in Bulan Bahasa event at Northpoint. Lastly, I would like to
wish all my K2 children who will be graduating this year,
happiness, as you begin a new chapter in your life. I would like to
share this quote from Christian d Larson; “Believe in yourself and
all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is
greater than any obstacle”. Thank you. Madam Juriyah Selamat

to roleplay as different
community helpers.
START SMALL DREAM BIG
FINALE
Parents and children were
invited to participate in the Start Small Dream
Big Finale at Suntec City Convention
Centre. We were delighted as our
story was featured in the exhibition.

Racial Harmony
The children celebrated Racial Harmony Day through the engaging

National Day Celebration
We went for a Cultural Trip to
Arab St and played ‘Find the Flag’ game at
Marina Barrage.
Infants had our own celebration in the classroom. We listened to
National Day songs as we waved the
Singapore flag.

Field Trip to Singapore Zoo
As part of the disposition day on “Care for Wildlife, KMY
planned a fieldtrip to Singapore Zoological Gardens. Our children
had the opportunities to learn and look at different animals which
they have read about, but not seen them alive!
We celebrated Teachers’ Day with games! The children were
excited to put on make up for
their teachers.

BULAN BAHASA
This is the 4th year we are participating in the Bulan Bahasa
organised by Chong Pang CC – MAEC. Our Kinder 1 children were given
the opportunities to showcase their talent through “Tarian Zapin”
and “Tarian Joget”. Kudos to all our 13 talented children. Thank
you parents for your support.
The audience enjoyed their performance as they cheered for
them.
Well done, Maria Luthfiya - KMY future emcee!

华文真有趣
第三季度的华文主题——我的国家和文化。在教学过程中大量采用了美术、音乐、角色扮演等授课方式。通过这些活动，不仅激发了幼儿的学习兴趣，还学到了相关的知识点。
我们戴着老鹰、母鸡和小鸡的头饰，扮演“老鹰”“鸡妈妈”和“鸡宝宝”，很开心的玩老鹰捉小鸡游戏。
我们穿着医生的服装，扮演“小医生”。

这是我们做的新加坡国旗，真漂亮！
看、这是我们用圆形和半圆形拼贴成的鹦鹉，真棒！

Term 3 theme is ‘All About
Transportation’. Infant teachers introduced the
different types of transportation using puzzles.
They enjoyed the balls activity. With the Velcro balls, they
were able to stick the balls on the shelves.

Mickey Mouse
Nursery 2
Tangled
Children engaged in learning about flowering plants and the
different ways to grow them.
They explored by looking, touching and smelling samples
of a plant seed and a bud.
Children learned to predict what will happen when more
air was introduced in the balloon rocket experiment. They
observed how far the balloon travelled when air was released out
from the
balloon.
We have stories to tell by identifying and talking about
the places of interest in Singapore!
We explored different cultures to better
understand them and we can help strengthen our community and
the
nation!
We had fun creating our favourite sports
ball!

Lilo and Stitch Kindergarten 1
Chip n Dale They had
fun making cream into
butter.
They enjoyed practising
their overarm throwing with bean
bags.
They took care of the mini
garden well! The flowers
were blooming beautifully.
With confidence,
they shared the places they had
been to in Singapore.
The K1A really had a great time playing the “Bees, Honey” game
for their outdoor activity. They laughed, ran, and played well with
their friends. It was
heartening to see the happiness and excitement on their
faces.
They could not wait to plant their seeds on the pot. These
young
farmers wanted to plant and harvest their own fruit trees!

Kindergarten 2
Children learned the blending of
sounds using word cards
in large group activities.
Children identified and
sorted the coins to
harness their numeracy
skills.
Children explored and discovered
items that can dissolve in
water.
Children practised the use of their
gross motor skills through bouncing and
bowling of balls.
Children were amazed to learn the
significance and symbolic meanings of the different
flowers.
