Message from the President…….

JUNE IS HERE AND IT IS A NEW DAY AND A NEW WAY. WE MADE IT THROUGH AND WE ARE VERY AWARE OF THE CHANGES.

We have gone through something we could never have imagined.

Congratulations, we are always better for the things that we experience and go through. I feel we have all learned life lessons that will forever change us as we go forward with new energy.

I think we are all very creative in coping with the day to day challenges as we maneuver through the opening of our State, County and City. Be motivated to embrace the fact that the traditional way of practicing Real Estate is changing. NAR has provided many ways for us to have the educated experience. RIGHT TOOLS-RIGHT NOW is one of many ways NAR is responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. So many questions. Should we retool to a virtual existence? is this an answer or a pathway to something else. There are no simple answers or solutions. We love our industry and as we have opened up, we want the best experience for our consumers. We will evolve and move forward from this, as some things will go away and some will stay in place as our new normal. We are here and we are present.

We are in the process of all things opening as the pace and guidelines are set out by Gov Abbott. We have to be patient and follow the rules. Our Association Office is following the guidelines set out and gradually opening up.

Go out and make your business great!

Some good thoughts to share. Be Safe and God Bless you all.

Property tax education campaign Local governments collect property taxes to pay for community services, such as schools, roads, and emergency response.

But the elected officials who serve on these city councils, county commissions, and school boards aren’t the only ones with a role in this annual process. In fact, the most important person is you, the taxpayer.

Your elected officials depend on your input during the budgeting process to determine how much to collect and how to spend those funds.

That’s why Texas REALTORS® is educating taxpayers about the property tax process and recent changes due to the passage last year of REALTOR®-supported property tax reform legislation.

“As the leading advocate for Texas property owners, our association is working to educate Texans about recent changes to the property tax process while communities prepare for the

annual budgeting process this summer,” said Cindi Bulla, 2020 Texas REALTORS® chairman.

This legislation, known as The Texas Property Tax Reform and Transparency Act of 2019 (a.k.a. Senate Bill 2), made several changes to the property tax system. And this is the first year that many of those changes will take effect, providing more transparency and opportunities for taxpayers to engage in the process.

Visit texasrealestate.com/propertytax to find several materials that explain the property tax process and what changed after Senate Bill 2.

Texas Supreme Court rules on vote-by-mail In the latest move in the vote-by-mail saga, on Wednesday the Texas Supreme Court ruled that a voter’s risk of contracting coronavirus doesn’t meet the state’s qualifications for voting by mail.

By law, only certain voters—including those who have a disability—may request mail-in ballots from their county. The court’s ruling means concern over contracting the virus at a polling place isn’t enough of a reason to qualify for a mail-in ballot.

However, the court also said it’s up to each voter to decide whether they have a disability that allows them to request a mail-in ballot.

This text-message notification system is dedicated to getting the word out when a call for action launches.

Sign up now: Texas REALTORS® can just text the word txrealtors to 30644 … and you’ll be

signed up to receive important, timely alerts.

intermittent downtime for approximately one hour .

• More modern, mobile friendly email layout. Some of these

features will require additional configuration after this update.

Sort order indicator - a sort arrow will indicate the ascending/

descending order of the column and boldness of the label will

indicate the sort priority:

• Map will use the full width of the browser

• Map and results tabs are added to the Concierge approval

screen

• Ability to search just the "intersection" of tow map shapes, for example if using a shape within x miles of work and x miles of spouse's work, search only for listings contained in both search

areas.

• New icons through the search module and updated action tools at the bottom of results as well as easier to read "tooltips"

when hovering over an icon

• Refresh option added to the My Listings Widget

• Day selection added to INRIX Drive Time - specify a day of

the week in addition to time of day to determine drive time
