Can you believe that we are halfway through 2020? I sure can’t! The first half of the year is not what I would have expected or hoped for, but I am believing for a healthy and peaceful second half of 2020. As we enter the second half of the year, with it comes the hoer weather, so be sure you are hydrang appropriately by drinking several glasses of water a day. This will keep you from geng dehy- drated. And if you don’t necessarily love drinking “plain ol’ water”, maybe add some fruit to it. A nice slice of lemon will give it a lile zip! Did you know you can also get your water through eang? Many fruits and vegetables – such as cu- cumbers, celery, tomatoes, radishes, bell peppers, watermelon, strawberries and grapefruit – give us 20 to 30 percent of our needed water. So that’s great news! Some of you have already taken advan- tage of our new ACH debit program, but with the recent worldwide and local events, we’ve not had the proper oppor - tunity to make our announcement. Hello to our residents, family members and friends of Renaissance Senior Living at Vero Beach. Can you believe that we are halfway through 2020? I sure

can’t! The first half of the year is not what I would have expected or hoped for, but I am believing for a healthy and peaceful second half of 2020.

As we enter the second half of the year, with it comes the hotter weather, so be sure you are hydrating appropriately by drinking several glasses of water a day. This will keep you from getting dehy-drated. And if you don’t necessarily love drinking “plain ol’ water”, maybe add

some fruit to it. A nice slice of lemon will give it a little zip! Did you know you can also get your water through eating? Many fruits and vegetables – such as cu-cumbers, celery, tomatoes, radishes, bell peppers, watermelon, strawberries and grapefruit – give us 20 to 30 percent of our needed water. So that’s great news!

Some of you have already taken advan-tage of our new ACH debit program, but with the recent worldwide and local events, we’ve not had the proper oppor-tunity to make our announcement. I am pleased to let you know that we are ful-ly set up to accept your payments elec-tronically now! This week, you should receive an enrollment packet in the mail with instructions and an authorization

    Resident of the Month

Congratulations to the Gibsons for being named our Residents of the Month. Linda is from Nashua, New Hampshire and Perter hails

from Waltham, Massachusetts. Both attend-ed the University of New Hampshire but met only after Peter graduated in 1968. They both received their bachelor’s degrees – Linda in mathematics, and Peter in electrical engineer-ing. They were married in 1970. Please wish them a Happy Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary this month!

After getting married, Linda went on to attend Bentley College (now University) to get her master’s degree in accounting and moved on to work at Bull Corporation until 2000 when she retired. Peter went on the achieve his master’s degree from Northeastern University in 1975 and went to work for the New England Electric System after graduation. He worked in various positions and management until he also retired in 2000. He is registered as a professional en-

gineer in Massachusetts and continues to be a Ham Radio operator, a hobby he picked up in 1958.

In their early years of retirement, the Gibsons loved to ski and hike in the White Mountains and Peter loved his fly fishing in those beauti-ful mountain streams. They moved to warmer climates when Linda entered a Biogen Clinical Trial in Orlando and became residents at Grand Royale in Vero Beach full time in 2012. They joined our Renaissance family in January of 2019.

Now, we cannot forget our favorite four-legged friend Roxie! Roxie joined the Gibson clan 11 years ago (her birthday is in June!) and has brought continuous joy to everyone she meets. She followed a long line of cocker spaniels that have resided in the Gibson household since the 1970s.

This trio keeps our Renaissance family moving and grooving. We’re so happy to have them as a part of our family here and hope we can con-tinue for forge new adventures together!

    Celebrating Father’s DayThe Gibsons

Baltimore born and raised; Lenora has be-come a community life saver with her beauti-cian background! She has become our in-house “keeper of the shears” and go-to per-son for a spa day! She loves the Transform-

ers movie franchise and Optimus Prime! Her dream is to one day travel the entire US and see all of the states. Her heroes are her mom and dad, and we should thank them for show-ing her how to be the wonderful caring woman that she is! Lenora’s hobbies include refinishing old furniture and riding her purple Harley Da-vidson! Lenora has become a true member of our Renaissance family!
