SelangorMALAYSIADear sir,Request for Obtaining Malaysian Local Meteorological Data for Research Purpose
Salam sejahtera.I am a Malaysian (IC: 721219-07-5753), currently pursuing a Masters program in Energy Studies at The University of Melbourne. As part of my course completion, I am carrying out a research investigation which requires the use of meteorological data as an input to the system being modeled. The system is a Greenhouse that uses Solar Cooling facility for maintaining the internal temperature within a temperate climate temperature range.
I have communicated with the Meteorological Department via e-mails (Sdri. Zureen Norhaizatul Bt Che Hassan, 8 August 2007) and was told to formally write in for the request. The following are the information that I would like to like to request for:
Dry bulb temperature
Wet bulb temperature
Relative Humidity
Global Solar Irradiation
Wind Speed and Wind Direction
The data would be for a station in Penang, Malaysia covering from the year 2000 to 2005. I would appreciate if the data could follow the below format, in order to enable data processing methodically:
One hourly record per line, 8760 lines of data per file,
Format(1X, 3I2, 5I3, I2)
CharacterData
1Blank
2-3month
4-5day
6-7hour
8-10global irradiation, MJ*100/h.m2
11-13dry bulb temperature, oC*10
14-16wet bulb temperature, oC*10
17-19wind speed, m/s *10
20-22Relative humidity, % *10
23-24wind direction, 16 compass points, 00=calm, 0=north, 4=east, 8=south
Also, I would appreciate if the data records could be specified whether it uses Standard Time or Mean Solar Time.I would like to thank you for the support and hope the data request would be approved.
Thank you.
Yours sincerely,
