What’s A Story?Story

� Has a beginning, middle, end

� Pages must be in a specific order-There’s a reason to turn the page: you can think about what will happen next.

� Has an internal organziation that creates and builds meaning

� next

Not a story

� No specific sequence

� You can show the pages in any order

� More like a set of flashcards on a similar topic stapled together

� Can’t predict what will happen next

� Hard to summarize or retell.

YOUR TURN� Work in a group of 4. You may choose to work in a

StartTalk language or in English.

maximum of 3 words you will teach another group.

� Create your story and practice.

using your story.
