Quick Start Guide: Meter Reads

1 OVERVIEW

This document provides a quick start guide in using the Meter Reads function of the Utilibill Web Portal.

1.1 Scope

Before using the Meter Reads function, there must be at least: - An electricity service (could be attached to a customer or vacant) - Active meter/s are attached to the service.

Thus, this document covers:

- Viewing meter reads - Adding meter reads - Importing meter reads.

Note(s):

➢ Creation of services/meters are not in the scope of this document. Please check the related Quick Start Guide for details.

2 VIEW METER READS (BASIC)

2.1 View Meter Reads page

2.2 View Meter Reads steps

1. From customer’s Overview tab, click Meter Reads tab.

→ Meter Reads page is loaded.

2. Select NMI from Service Name dropdown of the service to be updated.

→ Service Move In Date, Service Move Out Date, and Meter Number fields are updated.

3. Select meter number if needed from Meter Number dropdown.

→ Selected meter number is displayed.

4. Click NEM13 Reads tab in View Reads section.

→ NEM13 Reads sub-section is loaded.

5. Update Date Range From and To fields, and click Retrieve button.

→ Reads are displayed. (Suffix, Register ID, Register Description, Meter Number, Current

DateTime, Usage Quality, Usage Quality Reason, Previous DateTime, Previous Usage, Previous

Usage Quality, Previous Quality Reason, Quantity, Unit of Measure Create Date, Revision Date)

6. Click Meter Reads tab in View Reads section.

→ Meter Reads sub-section is loaded.

→ Meter reads are displayed. (Columns: Meter No, Read Date, Read Type, Meter Read (Flat),

Meter Read (Peak), Meter Read (Off Peak), Meter Read (Shoulder), Units, Datastream, TOU

Number, Comment, Date Added, User Added)

3.2 View Meter Reads steps

1. From customer’s Overview tab, click Meter Reads tab.

→ Meter Reads page is loaded.

2. Select NMI from Service Name dropdown of the service to be updated.

4. Click TOU Daily Reads tab in View Reads section.

→ TOU Daily Reads sub-section is loaded.

5. Update Date Range From and To fields, and click Retrieve button.

→ Reads are displayed. (Columns: Date, Day, Total Usage, Import, Billing Status, Usage Quality,

Statement No, Revised Data, Index Read)

6. Click TOU Reads tab in View Reads section.

→ TOU Reads sub-section is loaded.

7. Update Date Range From and To fields, Resolution dropdown, and click Retrieve button.

→ Reads are displayed. (Columns: Suffix, Register ID, Register Description, Meter Number,

DateTime, Usage Quality, Usage Quality Reason, Previous Usage, Previous Usage Quality,

Previous Quality Reason, Adjustment, Create Date, Revision Date)

8. Click Demand Reads tab in View Reads section.

→ Demand Reads sub-section is loaded.

→ Demand reads are displayed if meter has demand reads. (Columns: Service No, Demand

Type, Read Date, Demand Read, Demand Resolution, DST Method Type, Period, TOU Number,

Comment, Date Added, User Added)

9. Refine results by selecting demand type from Select Demand Type dropdown.

→ Only the selected demand types are displayed.

10. Click Meter Reads tab in View Reads section.

→ Meter Reads sub-section is loaded.

→ Meter reads are displayed. (Columns: Meter No, Read Date, Read Type, Meter Read (Flat),

Meter Read (Peak), Meter Read (Off Peak), Meter Read (Shoulder), Units, Datastream, TOU

Number, Comment, Date Added, User Added)

4.2 Add Meter Reads steps

1. From customer’s Overview tab, click Meter Reads tab. → Meter Reads page is loaded.

2. Select NMI from Service Name dropdown of the service to be updated. → Service Move In Date, Service Move Out Date, and Meter Number fields are updated.

5. Click Add Read button. → Add Meter Read dialog is displayed.

6. Input the details of the meter reads, especially the mandatory fields marked with a red asterisk (*).

⚠ Important! Correct register information must already be

added into the Utilibill system for NEM13 meters to bill properly.

6e Read Date* Select read date

6f Meter Read (Flat)* Input the meter read (only appears for meters with flat configuration)

6f Meter Read (Peak)* Input the meter read (only appears for meters with POS configuration)

6f Meter Read (Off Peak)*

Input the meter read (only appears for meters with POS configuration)

6f Meter Read (Shoulder)*

Input the meter read (only appears for meters with POS configuration)

6g Rollover Set YES or NO for the toggle to indicate rollover reads

6h Comment Input comments or notes about the reading

7. Click Save button.

→ The new entry is added to the meter reads table.

5 IMPORT METER READS

5.2 Import Meter Reads steps

1. In the dashboard, click Admin menu icon.

→ Admin page is loaded.

2. Click Meter Reads icon under Import Setup Tools.

→ Meter Reads Import page is loaded.

3. Click Download Import Template button to download the Excel template for import.

→ Save File popup will be displayed.

4. Click OK button then select a folder where the file will be saved.

→ The zip file should be downloaded successfully.

5. Unzip the download file.

→ The downloaded zip file contains the Excel file template and Word documentation when

unzipped.

6. Follow instructions from the Word documentation and fill up the Meter Read Import Template -

Manual file. Save it.

→ The file is successfully saved.

7. Click Insert File icon and select the saved template.

→ The file name will be displayed under File text input.

8. Input a Description for the import and click Upload File button.

→ The description will be displayed under Import History table.

9. Click on the green Import button.

→ A confirmation message will be shown.

10. Click the OK button.

→ A progress message will be shown.

→ When import is finished, a success message is shown. The meter reads have been

successfully imported.
