4130 Hotel BOH ABWF. 190mm thick block walls are to be erected from 6/F to R/F.

The height of wall varies from 3m to 7m with maximum length around 10m.

Blocks will be cut by hand tools (chisel, cutter, saw etc.) and assisted with electrical

saw cutter if necessary.

B. Movement Joints

According to proposed configuration of walls, movement joint are to be provided on

the top and ends of the wall. No intermediate MJ will be provided.

C. Material

Solid concrete blocks (MC41) are proposed to substitute hollow blocks (MC42).

D. Concrete Pier

For straight walls of height > 5.5m, length > 7.2m and without intermediate support

(returns, T connections), additional concrete pier (390x190) will be provided to

enhance the stability. Locations should refer to shop drawings (2120/4130/HOT/2013

~ 2022) and subject to shift for matching block wall joints.

E. T-Junction & Y-Junction

Please refer to our shop drawing. (Detail 5 & 6 of 2120/4130/HOT/2002)

F. Interfacing between blockwall and drywall

A 20mm gap to be provided and filled with rockwool. FR sealant will be applied to

seal. Please refer to shop drawing (2120/4130/HOT/2002) for details.

Top Builders International Co. Ltd. Package 4130 - Hotel BOH ABWF Works Method Statement for Concrete Blockwall Erection Revision: B Wall erection 1. Lay approximate 10mm thick site mixed 1:3 cement sand mortar on sound concrete

floor.

2. Lay concrete block on 1:3 cement sand mortar.

3. Apply 1:3 cement sand mortar on concrete blocks. Check vertical and horizontal

alignment by bob and leveler where necessary.

4. Place 175mm width metal lath in between of every 3 row of concrete blocks.

5. Drill & insert Dia. 8mm dowel bar to adjoining structural wall/column to a depth of

75mm. Bar spacing and length as specified to shop drawings (detail 1 & 2 of

2120/4130/HOT/2002).

6. #Cast lintel beam in-situ over concrete block. Level and reinforcement detail as

specified to shop drawing (2120/4130/HOT/2001 ~ 2003).

7. Precast lintel to be placed over small opening of 500mm to 3000mm width.

8. Repeat step 2 - 7 in running bond pattern until the block reach 20mm below

slab/beam soffit.

9. Apply mineral/rockwool and fire rated joint sealant to fill up the 20mm gap as shop

drawing indication (detail 2 of 2120/4130/HOT/2002).

10. Whenever wall height is exceeded than 3.50M, reinforced bracket should be used

instead of top dowel bar as according to shop drawings (detail 1 of

2120/4130/HOT/2003).

# Concrete to be minimum P15 grade as specified in Hong Kong Building (Construction)

Regulation with mixing proportion as following :-

45kg cement : 120kg fine aggregate : 165kg 20mm coarse aggregate
