Main steps of FAMT&L project
• Survey on teachers’ and students’ of mathemaUcs beliefs and pracUces concerning formaUve assessment in classroom.
• Designing and implemenUng a web repository for mathemaUcs teachers on the proper use of formaUve assessment in teaching-‐learning situaUons.
• Developing a training model for secondary school mathemaUcs teachers: – characterized by a variety of tools and objects / guideline for in-‐service
secondary school teacher training courses. – aimed at improving teacher skills in the use of formaUve assessment in
mathemaUcs. • TesUng and validaUon of the model
TheoreYcal Framework: starYng from a shared definiYon
FormaYve assessment… • Includes diagnosUc tesUng which is a range of formal and informal
assessment procedures employed by teachers during the learning process in order to modify teaching and learning acUviUes to improve student a^ainment.

Need of a tool…. Life Long Learning Programme n° 538971-‐LLP-‐1-‐2013-‐1-‐IT-‐COMENIUS-‐CMP
Long videos
Short videos
Analysis tool
• ObservaUonal analysis to gather informaUon about specific indicators of FA pracUces
• Metadata to categorize and store the long and short videos

Analysis
• To gather different indicators on assessment pracUces of mathemaUcs teachers
• To classify, categorize, store the video file • To give experience to teachers on how to correctly observe teaching methods
• To acUvate processes of criUcal reflecUon on their ahtudes and behavior in the classroom

GRID Indicators on assessment pracUces of mathemaUcs teachers, grouped in five macro-‐categories:
1. mathemaUcs' contents (contents and capabiliUes ‘object’ of the learning);
2. Ume of assessment (before, during or a`er a specific learning acUvity);
3. sehng of assessment (with all the students in the classroom or groups of students or each individual student);
4. kind of tool for data gathering of students' skills (wri^en, oral, behavioural observaUon, ...);
5. phases of formaUve assessment (presentaUon of the assessment acUvity; collecUon of informaUon; correcUng errors; feedback).
