• Keep all text formatting simple
• Let your references know that you are applying
• Proofread all materials
• Do not submit proposals for new artwork • Preview your images on a large screen, pay attention
to image cropping, alignment, shadows & glare • Do not include visuals other than artwork • Submit only images of artwork for which you are the
lead artist - ideally your most current work • Consider using a professional photographer • Obtain review & feedback before submitting

• Design: superior use of the elements & principles of design
• Content: communication of a unique concept or perspective
Professional Recognition
Credentials: as evidenced by statement & resume
• Education & training as an artist
• Exhibition record in museums; art galleries; &/or non-profit art spaces
• Public or private commissions
• Awards, artist-in-residencies, or other activities demonstrating professional practice
Curatorial Advisory Panel
• High profile Los Angeles area museum curators with expertise in contemporary visual art
• Advise and assist staff with outreach to artists
• Review submissions to prequalify pool of established and emerging artists
Artist Selection Panel
• Local arts professionals, artists & community representatives
• Review submittals from prequalified artists & select finalists for stations
• Evaluate finalist proposals & recommend artists for station commissions
