Project OverviewPhase 2 of the Metro Rail Exposition Corridor project is a 6.6-mile extension of the 80 station Metro Rail System from the existing station at Culver City.

It will include seven new stations, some with parking. The alignment will be primarily at-grade, parallel to I-10, and will end in Santa Monica.

Phase 2 will extend westward to Santa Monica from the Metro Expo Line Culver City Station and run along the old Pacific Electric Exposition right-of-way to 4th St and Colorado Av in downtown Santa Monica. All stations will provide safe and convenient customer interfaces and site connectivity and will reflect Metro’s systemwide state-of-the art design standards. Phase 2 includes new stations at:

> Palms

> Westwood/Rancho Park

> Expo/Sepulveda

> Expo/Bundy

> 26th St/Bergamot

> 17th St/SMC

> Downtown Santa Monica

An Alternatives Analysis Study was completed for the “Mid-City/ Westside Transit Corridor” in February.

A Draft Environmental Impact Statement/Environmental Impact Report (Draft EIS/EIR) was completed. As a result of this analysis, light rail was adopted as the preferred mode for the Exposition Corridor.

The Final Environmental Impact Statement/Report (Final EIS/EIR) was certified by the Metro Board in December.
