Bookworm Fashionista: “No More Dating Pigs – You are What You Date” by Norah Marler

No More Dating Pigs – You are What You Date by Norah Marler is a fun, self-help dating guide for single women of every age. Inspired by the appalling yet typical real life dating experiences of the author and her sisterhood, the handbook puts a name to tell-tale signs of “Pigs.” These warning signs will resonate with single women nationwide. Backed up by advice and examples, Norah’s book will put women on the road to true love. Instead of asking women to change, as many dating guides out now typically do, it teaches women how to spot a “pig” and how to stay away from him. “No More Dating Pigs” holds women – and men too – to a higher standard. For more information about the No More Dating Pigsbook series or to find out where to purchase the book, please visit www.norah-marler.com.

Posche in the Fall ...

Just because the chill is in the air, does not mean a girl’s wardrobe has to go from fab to drab! Whether on a budget or not, the key is to layer pieces and still keep it oh so chic and here is exactly how to do just that!

Black shorts, sequins top, blazer and Capezio tights. Posche carries the hottest tights, leggings and fishnet socks from Ca-pezio. Capezio is now taking their fashion experts front and center to give you the hottest textured tights and how to rock those leg warmers. So grab your sparkle black JBrand shorts and a pair of Capezio tights and Friday night just got hotter.

The other reason I do love the Fall is the leather jackets. Lately, it has been super cute to mix and match the trends.

One hot trend is taking a feminine piece and adding some leather. This is also the answer to what jacket do I wear with my dress question that we women always have. You have this gorgeous dress, the shoes to die for and then what jacket to wear to still showcase the outfit without covering it that much. Sequins Laundry gunmetal dress, leather DVF jacket still feminine with a flowy front and A+O fur booties to continue the edge. The gunmetal

Written by Staff Writer: Deana Spiotti

Page 11: Metropolis Nights November Edition

color touches on the colors of Fall, but the sequins gunmetal shimmers for that feminine side of you. Not a night out in a dress? What to wear for a GNO (girl’s night out) or a date with the hubby? If you re-member from my last write-up about fashion, I always said life is easier when you can build your wardrobe around leggings and this is true once again.

The buzz around the celebrity world and now in Pos-che is DL aka David Lerner. What does this designer have that is so buzz worthy you ask…leggings. From the stretch material, to the fit that is perfect, celebri-ties are going nuts for these whether it is a run at the gym or a night out, these are the leggings to have. What makes these leggings so worth the $88 price tag besides the material and the added zipper? Ladies let’s just say, these leggings are like the spanx of leggings! So grab your favorite pair of DL leggings whether basic fit, stir-up or zipper on the side, A+O fur booties, an oversized long-sleeve shirt to play with the composition of fitted leggings and to keep warm a

fur vest. Faux or not that’s your prerogative, either way your Friday night look is super comfortable and super Posche.

Key pieces for Fall are pieces with lace or sequins, black leggings, fur, a great bootie and an awesome leather jacket. *Leather Jacket Saver: find one that has a hood that can zip off so you can transition your jacket from day leather to night leather and also pays for itself in the end.

On the Road‐ Inked out

One of Biagio’s Tattoo Gallery’s recent adventures in the world of tattoo and art was the Inked Out Tattoo Convention at the Meadowlands Expo Center on the weekend of September 23rd through the 25th. Biagio’s Tattoo Gallery was placed into the row of Cheyenne, makers of the Hawk tattoo machines which sponsors Biagio and is his exclusive tool in the Art

of Tattooing. Signaling the location of the row, was the very large inflatable Hawk Spirit flying above head!!

Besides the well‐known method of machine tattooing, there were a couple traditional approaches at this convention. Including the Japanese hand‐poking style of tattoo called Tebori which translates to “te” meaning hand and “bori” meaning to carve. There was also the Samoan style of hand taping tattoo called Tatau,.Tatau

utilizes one stick tapping a sharp object attached to another stick into the skin. The tapping sound made is where the name “Tatau” comes from. Early English voyagers took the

word “Tatau” and mispronounced it as tattoo, bringing it into its modern usage.

A booth at the convention was setup also by our guest tattoo artist Rob Talo where he performed tattoos as well as showing off his multiple works of art, many of which were created directly in Biagio’s Tattoo Gallery.

The events proceeding were filled with great conversations from tattoo and art lovers alike.

Biagio’s Tattoo Gallery / Cheyenne had many guests visit the booth, some being artists themselves, showing off their portfolios. Also at the event were music and TV star Ice‐T and his wife Coco‐ who autographed copies of their new book, and took photos for fans. As always we had our widescreen tv setup broadcasting a live feed of tattoo in progress and most of the event people were afixed upon the live feed watching the art of “Performance Tattoo”. There was a recorded 18,000 people attending the three day convention over the weekend, run by Mario Barth. All in all, Inked Out was a great success and spectacle. Looking forward to next year.

Mike found his musical match when he attended a “party, I shouldn’t have been at” and saw thousands of people going crazy for electronica. He realized then that he needed to be part of this. GUY CODE?Getting in the middle of relationships is common for me in this line of business. I don’t do it on purpose and I don’t look for it but it just comes to me. Let me give you an example of the old “stuck in the middle scenario” of a cheater hiding from her cheater! And we all know the night life plays by its own set of rules, but “GUY CODE” is always followed. However I don’t know what the by-law would be for this circumstance below…

I have a customer that comes to the club once in a blue moon, but he knows me from my past promoting days. One day he hits me up and tells me he’s coming threw. He told me he was hanging with some friends so put him down for “Chuck+4”. No problem. I haven’t seen Chuck in a while so it was going to be nice to see him and his wife.

When chuck arrives I bump into him on the patio and go to say, “hello.” Now as I’m looking for his wife, and he says “you need to do me a favor”. I said “sure”. “You didn’t see me tonight”. That’s when I realized that I’m not going to see his wife tonight. And this “favor” is going to be a kick to the dick if his wife ever found out!

As I’m asking him if everything was alright this gorgeous brunette comes up to us and chuck introduces her to me as a “co-worker”. I’m kinda laughing inside because, I mean really? That’s the best you can come up with? I think that was the old college excuse right? So I

can’t believe Chuck is doing this, but being a good host, I play along and offer both of them drinks and tell them to have a good night. The evening ended and I didn’t get to see Chuck before he left, but that was cool. I figured his “co-worker” and him left to “finalize some report.”

I few months go by and I get a hit on facebook from Elaine, Chucks wife, asking me to call her cause she needed to talk to me.

This is about the time I decided to go buy a protective cup before that swift kick came. Thinking I’m walking into some crap, I try to get in touch with Chuck. You know “guy code.” Anyways since I can’t get in touch with chuck I call Elaine to find out what’s up.

I’m nervous as hell, but I play it off real good with a great greeting and I ask her how she’s been. She responded “great!” and she wanted to set up a table for a group of girls for a “girls night out”. I said “sure, no problem” and I was relieved it wasn’t about Chuck being at the club.

That evening got started and Elaine showed up with all her girls. As the night went on the party was getting real good. I sent over a bottle of champagne and an appetizer to Elaine’s table cause the girls were “partying it up” and I wanted to make sure they would be ok.

fabuloussavers.com

22

Page 25: Metropolis Nights November Edition

As I’m doing my rounds around the club I go by the tiki bar to see how the door is doing. As I turn to go back into the club I notice Elaine “face sucking” this guy (not chuck). As she finishes that’s when we lock eyes. “HOLY SHIT there is no way this is happening right in front of me,” I think to myself.

I play it off like I didn’t see anything but she knows I saw. The night continues and I’m at top bar talking to a promoter about the evening. Down the end of the bar is Elaine trying to get my attention. As I look over she gives me the “SHHHH” sign and calls me over. As I walk over I know what she wants to talk about, but I figured playing dumb was a good starting point to play this off. She says that “she’s sorry I saw that and that she was only having fun and please don’t tell Chuck.” I’m dying over here cause if she only knew what happened a few months ago she wouldn’t be so concerned. I said “sure.” She said “thank you” and ended up leaving an hour later with the group and the stud. What happened after that, I have no clue. To this day I’ve seen chuck and his wife in the club together a few times and they look in love. But on occasions they both give me funny looks and I know it’s about the evening they each had here.

So here we have him cheating on her, and her cheating on him, both seem happy, but both are obviously hiding it from the other. My personal feelings on a mutually cheating couple is simple, STOP CHEATING IN A CLUB YOU BOTH COME TO! But does “guy code” really apply here, or just the code of silence?

MN: Beautiful and talented are characteristics each Metropolis Nights Angel have. In this case we found an Angel that has a voice you can move to. Along with her beautiful look, this Angel also sings. So check her out and get to know her, you might just fall in love!

Aolani: My name is Aolani Yesenia Rivasand I am a young latin girl from a small town in New Jersey. I am often labeled by my friends as the “SpanishRihanna.”

MN: Well Aolani, besides music what else sets your heart on fire?

Aolani: You might not believe it from my looks, but my first LOVE is to indulge myself in food. Mexican and Chinese in particular are my kryptonite. Besides eating however, my second love is music; listening to it, but more importantly, making it. I have worked with a hand-ful of music producers and other vocalists and I plan on continuing to do so.

28

Page 31: Metropolis Nights November Edition

MN: So I see you keep looking at the TV, What’s up?

Aolani: You might think that most girls don’t like sports…especially football, but I’m probably the biggest football fan you’ll ever meet. I come from the NJ/NYC area and often get asked where I stand, Jets or Giants? Let me tell you something…I BLEED BLUE. New York Giants for life!

MN: Well, ummmmm, yeeeaaaa. I am going to let that one go for now…

29

Page 32: Metropolis Nights November Edition

MN: So being a musician and singer, tell us how you see things in your scope?

Aolani: The way I perceive life is by trying my hard-est to find the good in everything, whether it be the people I meet, the situations I get involved in, or the other aspects that I come across. To me, life is about finding that small degree of happiness that keeps me going and to hold on to that, tightly. That is what drives me.

Currently, I am relocating to California to continue my pursuit in the music industry. Like they say, “You can take a girl out of Jersey but you can’t take Jersey out of a girl.” Lookout Cali!

MN: Well my dear we are going to miss you, so let me send you off with a song or chant of our own…

What a STUPID ...Well we found it people: Here is the stupidest fight on Facebook. Let me also set the precedence. These people fighting are all socialites that enjoy all the blessings America has to offer. I mean I get it, if "YOU" as a person were wronged in this world, and people were cel-ebrating it, I guess then you could say something. But just wait until you read below, I mean WHAT A STUPID! This is what these people felt they needed to argue about? A dumbass girl makes an ass of a comment and then goes on enjoying all the other wonderful things we as AMERICANS love. She really needs her head examined. What a damn hypocrite.

MN: REALLY!!! Your a socialite heavy in the club scene, enjoying the AMERICAN WAY OF LIFE! YOUR NOT FREAKING GAN-DHI BITCH. But O,Thank God we have you to throw your delicate self on that grenade! What a sacrifice, Your such a martyr, we should all learn from you!!! WHAT A STUPID!!

Below is the rest of the argument. Remember people if you post it, it’s on the record. Start thinking before you post because we just might have to point out that you’re so stupid that you actually think you’re a scholar :

PASS! What a messed up holiday. LikeUnlike · · Share · about an hour ago near Dallas, TX · Shared with: Public 10 people like this. Phillip Pj Kinzer whereas I agree with that statement, the point of the holiday (now) has become time to spend with your family and loved ones. Be thankful you have them...I'm up here ALONE away from all of my friends/family back home and I can't be with them during the holidays.about an hour ago · LikeUnlike · 1 person Raul Montoya likes this. It's a bullshit holiday, we were taught in school that Thanksgiving was a glorious day in which the Pilgrims and the Natives ate a wonder-

ful feast blah blah blah. Well there is no Santa Clause and we have now learned what really happened. If you want to be Naive then have a feast on a day of murder, thievery, and betrayal then do so but don't try to turn that day into a joyous occasion54 minutes ago · LikeUnlike Genaro Estrada I concur Cash!49 minutes ago · LikeUnlike Wesley Whitsell I'm Cherokee. I am also American. If you don't want to celebrate being an American and the traditions are so appalling to you, get rid of everything you have that isn't directly an invention of native america. Because without that slavery and oppression Modern America wouldn't even be here. Get over it.43 minutes ago · LikeUnlike · 4 people Phillip Pj Kinzer Did I not say that I agreed with her statement? back to my point...all I was saying was be thankful for your family (ANY DAY OF THE YEAR) you have no idea what its like to not have any around. Be thankful for that.33 minutes ago · LikeUnlike Kaycee G. Coleman ZoukNightclub Wow no fights intended here just a statement! I believe if u need ONE day to celebrate family your ridiculous. You shouldn't be appreciative only one day a yr it should be a yr long statement. If it's FAMILY you shouldn't need an excuse to come together to see eachother. Just sayin.

doesn't mean we can abolish the holiday, and it also doesn't mean that we have to like it and not express our opinion about it. Don't act like you've gone through life without complaining about anyhthing openly. Vision Becomes RealityWritten by Entertainment Editor: Will Love :: www.WillLove.net

This October, Emiliani Enterprises held it’s annual three-day beauty expo at Edison’s New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center. The hair industry icon went entirely above and beyond with the innovative “Vision Becomes Reality” opening night showcase and subsequent principle. The hair show, presented by world-renowned beautician Phillip Wilson, helped to raise the bar for its predeces-sors. Moreover, the revolutionary concept and underlying thesis of the performance helped to foreshadow the future, as well as the importance of education within the beauty industry: No matter how much technology may begin to undertake the role of trade occupa-tions within the next century – one operation of which robots cannot succeed is creationism.

Through concert-quality sound stages and Hollywood-esque special effects, this year’s presentation firmly helped to illustrate what the future of the beauty industry will unques-tionably entail. The highlighted charitable organization of the evening was none other than Project Ladybug, which works with providing financial and emotional support to children and families primarily affected by cancer. Emiliani Enterprises ultimately awarded the foundation with a five thousand dollar check.

An assortment of established talent, many of whom are New Jersey natives, were in attendance. Not surprisingly, founder of Project Ladybug and star of HGTV’s ‘Dina’s Party,’ Dina Manzo was on hand. The industry’s own Anthony Lombardi, Christy Pereira, and Tracy DiMarco – all featured on Style Network’s reality series ‘Jerseylicious’ – were present as well. Former cosmetologist and one-fifth of BRAVO’s ‘Real House-wives of New Jersey,’ Jacqueline Laurita made a surprise appearance; while 103.5 WKTU’s own Cindy Vero allowed Wayne Tuggle to work his magic on the radio veteran.

Two words of which best exemplify the styles displayed at this year’s Emiliani Beauty Expo are both “chic” and “futur-istic.” While certain styles instantly generated a mental image of Madison Avenue, and some commercial Milan, others appeared to have emerged from what would be imperturbably strutted by models on a contemporary 3011 catwalk.

2011’s Emiliani Beauty Expo, which presented the “Vision Becomes Reality” hair show publicized by The Hip Event LLC, managed to project the annual exhibition to a whole new magnitude of artistry and education. Society can now antici-pate the beauty industry to ascend into a realm all of it’s own, transitioning in accordance with the major global changes which are all but looming upon us.

Okay so fall is here and fashion is still a must. Trends come and go and to be honest I never thought I would fall head over heals for these hottest trends. From the runway to my closet there are just some pieces you can not go wrong with. The Vintage and over-sized look is back, and I swear on my FAVORITE Haute Hip-pie Tee that this trend never takes time off again. This autumn has gorgeous colors to play up your outfits. Matching up a burgundy over-sized top with a pair of sleek leggings with maybe any leather accent of a pair of booties or wedged leather knee high boots can be ideal for a woman everyday. But then when the lights dim and the music sounds, girls just need to go out, get a drink and dance... pair that over-sized gorgeous top and rock it with throwing it over a mini tank dress or with a sassy skirt...with either chunky pumps or boo-ties would be the way to go.

What is a Fit Model?Written by Freelance Writer: Jacqueline Nigro

When you think of a model, you think of super models such as Heidi Klum, Giselle, or Kate Moss. You think of the beautiful women you see in magazines or commercials, making whatever their promoting look glamorous. Did you know though, that there is a whole other category of modeling that will never be seen on television or on the cat walk, but is still extremely important and necessary to the world of fashion? This type I speak of is called fit modeling.

Do you ever wonder how designers perfect the fit of each garment they make? It’s not just luck. Designers hire fit models to be their real life mannequins to help them in the production of their clothes. A fit model lets the designer see the way their garments fit on a real person instead of a mannequin, and this helps them produce their clothing for the average costumer. If you look in your closet, most of the clothes that you own have been created with the help of a fit model guiding the way. Huge name designers and companies such as Abercrombie and Fitch, Brooks Brothers, and Victoria Secret all use fit models. A fit model can work pretty steady, and if you have the exact measurements a designer is looking for, you can be on your way to having a career as a top fit model. The trick to keeping a job as a fit model is to always maintain your measurements. You can never gain or loose an inch, and you need to be able to give feedback to the designer about the fit and feel of the clothes. A fit model’s job is harder then you think, the hours are long, (sometimes 8-9 hours at a time), and you must stand without much movement in heels while the designer and staff mark and make corrections to the garments. While a high fashion model has a career of maybe 7 to 10 years though, a fit model’s career can span 20 years or more. As a fit model myself, I find it to be fun and rewarding, and who knows, maybe you too will be on your way to being a fit model as well!
