During the month of October, Kappa Delta Chi Sorority,

Incorporated. made large efforts to support breast cancer.

Not only did they participate in the Making strides against

breast cancer walk but they also hosted their Pretty in Pink

Fundraiser to raise funds for Making Strides in a fun fashion

show event.

Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. held a

wonderful Mental Health Seminar in October. They

took time to raise awareness of mental health issues

and even to discuss ways to help those close to us

that may find themselves in times of distress. There

are many resources on campus and this seminar

highlighted many that are available for students to

use.

On October 22nd, Sigma Iota Alpha Sorority,

Incorporated. held their "Get Rid of Your Personal Burn

Book" Body Image Seminar event. They had aninteractive lecture on personal body image and how to

gain healthy self­esteem. It was a night where we wereall able to share our personal stories dealing with the

media's portrayal of body image and how it affects us.With Mrs.Kristie Kennedy as their guest speaker they

were able to really touch the lives of their audience

members. To the left they are showcasing what they

created during the seminar!

On October 2nd, Theta Nu Xi Sorority, Incorporated.

held their sixth annual Theta Nu Boo Pageant in FSU's

Globe Auditorium. Three contestants entertained the

audience while exhibiting their unique personalities.

Congratulations to Lance Markeith Felton on being

crowned the 2015 Theta Nu Boo.

This month we are highlighting a very special member of ourMulticultural Greek Council.We are honored to recognize

Jessica Dueño, a sister ofTheta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority,

Incorporated.

Jessica Dueño has gained a hugeachievement which is to representthe Multicultural Greek Council inthe 2015 Homecoming Court! We

want to take a moment tocongratulate her for these

endeavors.

Jessica is a nursing major, a member of the Army ROTC, and afirst generation college student who came into Florida State

University through Care 11. She has been involved in the executiveboard of the Multicultural Greek Council during her years here atFlorida State University. She knows what it truly means to be a

seminole and her school spirit is everlasting.

Take the time to vote for your 2015 Homecoming Chief & Princesson Tuesday, November 10th, 2015!

souls back toearth.

*But BEFORE you request an event permit, makesure that you have reserved your event space

through the proper office. Some common places toreserve rooms are Union Reservations, The center

for global and multicultural engagement, Miller hall,Langford green, and Student common courtyard.

at least 10 business days

in advance of the

date of your

event?

To then request an event permit,you must log in to

http://nolecentral.dsa.fsu.edu withyour FSUID and password

Once you log in, you'll have to scroll down and findyour organization's name under 'My Organizations'.

On the home page of your organization, you canthen click 'Submit an event'.

Being as specific as possiblehelps! The more details you givethe less questions the reviewersmay have for you and the lesslikely you are to get denied!

You will then be asked multiple questionspertaining to the details of your event. They will ask

about many things including the presence of food oramplified sound.

You should check the status ofyour event permit request after48 hours of submitting it and

regularly throughout yourplanning process. It is common

for reviewers to ask questions toclarify your details.

On the last page there is a submission summary.It allows you to edit anything you may need to

change. You can click the green "Submit" button at the bottom to submit your Event permit request.

During finals week and

specific times of the

day amplified sound

isn't allowed at

events.

To check the status of your event permit request:log into http://nolecentral.dsa.fsu.edu, click your

name at the top right corner, and press the "Review"button.

Once you select the event that is under review, therewill be a discussion box on the side. You can then

view the reviewers' questions and instructions andprovide them with additional details in the comment

box.

You should receive an emailupon approval with final

instructions.

Once all campus partners have reviewed your eventand given you clearance, and once you have madeall of the arrangements outlined by SAC staff, yourevent permit will be "Approved" in the system and

you can officially hold your event.

If your event permit is denied, you will receive anemail notifying you and instructing you to make

some proper changes. Either a new submission maybe required or if it consists of only minor changes,

you may edit an old submission.
