MARANA ATHLETICS
Tiger Pride
We are in the spring athletic season with baseball, softball, tennis, track and men’s
volleyball. All programs are entrenched in the 3C’s (Culture, Commitment, and
Competitiveness) at practice, on the field, court, and on campus.
The new Marana Culture of being truly Committed and Competitive was strong with
baseball, cheer, softball, track and men’s volleyball practicing and Competing during
spring break. Softball played in the Badger Tournament playing against some of the
state’s best teams and took 4th in the tournament. Baseball competed in the Lancer
Classic tournament, one of the toughest tournaments in Tucson, resulting in 5th place
out of 28 teams. The Track and Field Tigers were at the U of A Willie Williams
Invitational resulting in several PR’s (personal records) and a few 1st place standings in
various events. Come on let’s say it, “Tigers, Tigers, eat ‘em up, eat ‘em up!”
Congratulations to the Marana High Cheerleaders who took 1st place in their
category and division against some of the most difficult competitors in L.A. and Orange
County. The Lady Tigers changed the Culture of that auditorium with their “Rock n’
Roll” theme routine. These ladies were amazing and represented our community
impeccably and showed California what Marana Tigers are made of!
Congratulations to the Men’s Volleyball team on their 1st place win in the San Pedro Volleyball tournament, Wooooo Hoooo! These Tigers executed some outstanding Competitiveness and excellent volleyball against several L.A. schools. They came back from 6th place last year to 1st in 2015. Marana Men’s volleyball brings such amazing energy to the gym that they had California fans watching the final game. Our Tigers took Palos Verdes in the final game with a 25-24 score!
Come out and support your Tigers! They are working hard for you!
Proud to be the AD and TIGER PRIDE! Ms. Montiel Turner
