Job Readiness Bootcamp: Call for class date

This class helps with resume preparation, portfolio crea-tion, job search tips and assistance, registering and up-loading resume to OhioMeansJobs.com, and interviewing skills. Participants will leave the boot camp with a re-sume, an active profile on OhioMeansJobs.com, and will have completed a mock interview session. Participants will also receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of class. NOTE: Lunch is NOT provided.

Plumber / Pipefitter / Refrigeration Apprenticeships

A plumber/pipe fitter installs, maintains, repairs and tests many different types of pipe systems. These skilled workers install pipe systems that carry water, waste drainage, steam, air, or other liquids or gases needed for sanitation, industrial production, medical or other uses. They also alter or repair existing pipe sys-tems and install plumbing fixtures, appliances and heating and refrigeration units. Work may be indoor or outdoor in all weath-er; in high places or in trenches. Plumbers and pipe fitters re-quire physical stamina because of frequent heavy lifting and be-ing on one's feet for long periods of time. You must: Be at least 17 years of age Possess a High School diploma or GED Certificate Have an official high school transcript Complete a trade related aptitude test Have a valid Ohio driver's license It will be helpful to have completed courses in or possess the following skills: Good reading ability General math, algebra, geometry General science, chemistry and physics Blueprint reading and mechanical drawing Welding, metal and machine shop Good work ethics Good attendance What are the program specifics? Plasterer Apprenticeships

Plasterers apply plaster, cement, or acrylic finish products to the interior and exterior of walls and ceilings of hospitals, office build-ings, schools, warehouses, residences, shopping centers and large industrial and commercial buildings. The craft requires an exten-sive amount of outdoor work. This is a very active, strenuous trade with much standing, stooping, bending, climbing and carry-ing. The ability to work at heights is a must. You must: Be at least 18 years of age Possess a high school diploma or GED Certificate Have a valid driver's license Have dependable transportation It will be helpful to have completed courses in or possess the following skills: Good reading ability General science General math Drafting What are the program specifics? Length of program is 4 years 6 months probationary period A minimum of 144 hours of classroom related instruction

Edison State Sponsored Apprenticeships

Edison State Community College is a registered apprenticeship sponsor for the state of Ohio. We offer courses that fulfill the re-quired hours of instruction that apprentices need, while they work full-time and learn skills through on-the-job training. Edison State assists employers by maintaining apprentice records verifying that students are completing their training and course work. This program produces the national recognized credential of the DOL’s Journey Worker License.
