Mother- Francesca Neri Unable to care for Michelangelo; A stonecutter family cared for him.
Taught by Domenico Ghirlandaio (a popular artist in Florence) Skill of fresco painting At 16 he attended a special school for the study of sculpture founded
by Lorenzo de Medici.
