Welcome!

Thank you for taking time to come to my presentation. I am excited to share how much I have grown since the beginning of the year during my presentation.

We will look at my performance in each academic class and some of the work samples that I have completed throughout the year.

Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama

• Age: 51• Birthplace: Chicago, IL• One Long-term Goal:

To become a lawyer and represent young people that need help.

• Quote that represents you: “Success isn’t about much money you make, it’s about the difference you make in people’s lives.”

Humanities Grade Reflection

❏ Quarter 3 Grade: 92%❏ Classwork: 90%❏ Homework: 95%❏ Quizzes: 93%❏ Tests: 90%❏ Projects: 97%

❏ I’ve done well with completing my homework on time.

❏ My grade has gone up since quarter 2 because I have done more homework and spent more time studying at home.

RAFT: The Chosen• This project was a letter to Reuven, a character in

the book The Chosen.• I learned about to think about another person’s

perspective and put myself in their shoes. I also learned how the author uses perspective to create a certain mood for the reader.

• I chose this project because it shows my best writing skills.

• I grew a lot from my writing last year to this year, and this project shows how I am better able to pull textual evidence.

• I will use what I learned from this assignment to think about ways that I can reach out to people who are different than me. It taught me that I can learn a lot from people of other cultures.

reading independently every day and finding books that are on the right level for me.

Attendance

❏Number of Absences: 0❏Number of Tardies: 1❏My attendance has impacted

my performance because I have been here every day, I have earned better grades.

❏Going into high school, my goal is to get perfect attendance and to be on time every day.

Behavior

❏ Number of Referrals since January: 1❏ Number of Suspensions since

January: 0❏ My behavior has impacted my

performance because when I received the one referral, I was distracting myself and my peers. I did not do as well on the quiz that day as I could have.

My Long Term Goals

I aspire to be the top of my class at Whitney M. Young Magnet High School, where I will be going next year.

I aspire to attend Princeton University.

I aspire to become a lawyer because I believe I can help to change unfair laws.

My Future

Thank you to…

• My mother who has been my inspiration.

• My teacher, Mr. Jones, who made me a better reader.
