Introduction

Michelmores Charity of the Year runs from 1 January to 30 December. Each of our offices in Exeter, London and Bristol support their own local Charity of the Year. Our Exeter office aims to support a charity based within Devon.

Application process

• Applications open in early August 2017. The closing date for applications is 29 September 2017.

• Our Charity of the Year (CotY) Committee shortlist submissions in October 2017 and all unsuccessful applicants and the three finalists will be informed then

• The shortlist of three applications will go to a staff vote in October 2017, when the successful Charity of the Year will be decided. The three finalists will be informed of the decision shortly afterwards.

• Our new CotY will be invited to present to all Exeter staff in December 2017.

• Bi-monthly meetings with a representative from the successful applicant and our CotY Committee will be scheduled for 2018.

How much did you fundraise last financial year? What is your target for this financial year?

Who are your major grant funders, how much do they provide and over what timescale?

Who are your corporate sponsors, how much financial support (money raised) and other support do they provide and over what timescale?

What was your operating cost last financial year, and what do you anticipate it being this year?

How much of your total fundraising is spent on admin / support costs?

Further information

All of our employees in Exeter receive one day each year to volunteer. Please indicate what volunteering opportunities you could offer teams of up to 20 people? The more diverse and creative the opportunity (projects), the more interesting to our employees.

Please note, we do not ask staff to do coin collections (i.e. at a supermarket with a collection tin), but are looking for projects where we can encourage teamwork amongst our employees and help your organisation really make a difference.
