Is there a difference between a yearly check up and a sports physical exam? The answer is yes.

Important Developmental Screenings for Your Babies!

Children should have a Well Child visit at the ages of 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 24, and 30 months. Your child needs at least 6 visits BEFORE the age of 15 months.

At the 9, 18 and 30 month visits, it is important for your child to have a developmental screening done. The screenings help to make sure your child is developing as he or she should. They will let you know if there is anything that may need further care.

Steps for the Screening

• You will answer a few questions about how your child is developing.

• Your child’s doctor will go over your answers during the check-up.

• You may be given a referral to other doctors that will help with learning, development or behavioral problems.

Molina mails postcard reminders for all well child visits. So remember to:• Call early to make the appointment. • Say “I am calling to schedule a Well Child visit.” • Ask for the developmental screening at the 9, 18,

and 30 month visits.

Protect Your Family! Get Your Child Lead TestedChildren should be tested at the ages of 12 and 24 months old. If your child is between the ages of 3 to 6 years and has never had a lead test, make sure to get one done.

Here are 6 things you can do to protect your child from lead poisoning:• Test children even if they seem healthy.• Wash their hands often.• Make sure they eat healthy low-fat foods high in iron, calcium, and Vitamin C. Fatty foods help lead get into

your child’s blood faster.• Test your home.• Let tap water run 1 minute before using.• Be careful when buying children’s toys and jewelry from all stores.

Please call your child’s doctor to schedule a lead test, if needed.Let’s work together to keep our children healthy and safe!
