Why microduct cabling solution?

Microcabling system is built directly to the ground or on duct routes. Access and metropolitan network infrastructure is widely built by laying duct systems underground (aerial duct solutions are also available) which then can be utilized to answer various customer needs.

Microcabling system allows flexible expansion of the network. After microducts are installed, microduct cables can be easily blown in microducts whether building a new network or expanding existing network. By using microduct technology CAPEX and OPEX can be significantly reduced.

Microduct cabling solution offers versatility because wide variety of cables, ducts and accessories in different sizes and styles can be configurated in endless ways in nearly all possible cabling scenarios.

Solution is perfect for growing and changing cities and neighborhoods: during the initial installation you don’t need to know how the cable network should look like years ahead because microduct network can be altered easily afterwards.

Durable ducts from a trusted supplierMicroducts for microduct cabling solution

NesDuct with a single microduct and NesDuct bundle

Ducts protect cables in ground during and after installation. Nestor Cables’ microduct solution includes a wide variety of NesDuct microducts to suit our customer’s varied needs. Our ducts are durable and able to protect fragile fibres inside ducts from moisture, traffic and other disturbances.

Where do the ducts come from?To offer a comprehensive variety of microducts Nestor Cables partners with carefully chosen trusted duct manufacturers. Like ourselves our partners are ISO 9001 certified and their processes are regularly audited by outside parties.

Which installation methods are suitable for microducts? Nestor Cables offers mainly direct buried and direct install ducts:

• Direct buried installation: These ducts have impressive crush and impact resistance and therefore can be buried into the ground without other protection. These ducts are marked ”Direct buried” on the duct table on next page.

• Direct installation with added protection: Some ducts have thin walls and therefore they are intended for installation to places with additional mechanical protection. These ducts are marked ”Thinwall” on the duct table on next page.

However these are only the most popular installation methods: to learn more about other methods, please contact us and we will assist you in finding the perfect solution.

CustomisationIt is possible to customize ducts according to your need: we can offer you ducts with customized colours, stripes, materials and so on.

Nestor Cables’ selection of microducts consists of NesDucts with a single microduct and NesDuct bundles. Both of these include microducts for direct buried and direct installation.

• Micro ducts are made of high quality HDPE. • Nestor Cables’ selection of microducts has all

varieties of ducts needed to create a FTTH (Fibre to The Home) or FTTX network.

All of these are available in several sizes.

Accessories to connect and secure microducts

Installation and protection of a versatile microduct communications network demand ways to connect different kinds of microducts securely. Besides cables and microducts Nestor Cables also offers a selection of handy accessories to build these connections.

Accessories for microduct cabling solution

Among others our selection of accessories suitable for microduct cabling solution include:

• To joint two microducts you need a simple straight connector.

• End stop connector is used to secure the end of unused microduct.

• Gas block connector is used to avoid gas or moisture creeping to a certain part of the network.

• To connect two microducts of differing diameter use reducer connector.

• When you need a water and gas tight seal for open duct end with air blown micro cable use divisible seal.
